Chapter 2:

Lost in the moment, Lilly doesn't realize the contents of her purse are still spilled on the sidewalk. He gathers her stuff and hands it to her gently. For some reason, it wasn't hard for her to smile when she looked at him. Like it's as if he swept all of her pain and hurt away.

"My name is Adam. And you are?" He says with a kind, caring voice.

"I'm Lilly." Still looking into his piercing green eyes, she can't help but smile at him while they lock eyes. His eyes sucked all that happened just minutes ago and replaced that unbearable hurt and anger with uncontrollable happiness.

"Well I better get to class, nice meeting you Lilly." He grins boyishly, and Lilly watches him fade into the sea of other students flooding into the double doors of the school.

She finds her seat in her last class of the day. She glances over to the seat to her left. Then she feels someone tap on her shoulder and looks to the seat beside her.

"You following me?" Adam says with a chuckle. She laughs quietly while looking at him, that same feeling quickly filling her body.

'Is he coming onto me? Should I go along with it? What is this feeling? I like it, like this guy I just met could make me feel the best I ever did.' Lilly thought, her mind racing.

In the middle of class, Adam passes a note to Lilly under the desks. It reads 'Gosh, this teacher is boring.' She smiles at him, looking in him with her joy filled eyes and replies 'tell me something I don't know.'

He takes the note and scribbles 'meet me and the lake by your house at 12:00 am tonight.' along with his cell phone number.

'Deal! Wait, how do you know there is a lake by my house?' she writes back, confusion translating onto the words on the paper.

'My parents moved right next door to your house. I saw you this morning when I was getting on the bus. Oh yeah, and bring your bathing suit ;)'

All of Lilly's confusion wiped away as her eyes roll over the pencil written words on white lined paper. Lilly releases a loud, adorable laugh aloud which interrupts the teacher's lesson.

"Care to share with the whole class what could ever be so amusing?" The teacher snaps bitterly in a cold, heartless voice.

"No thank you" Lilly replies, appearing calm in her voice, but dying of laughter on the inside.

"Then I suggest you pay attention." The teacher resumes her lesson. Lilly looks over at Adam's kind eyes and pretends to laugh. Adam smiles at her with no teeth showing.

She sneaks out of her first floor window wearing a purple, flowy, short- sleeved cover up with a small pink bikini with white polka dots. She slowly runs her hands through the green, dewy blades of grass, crossing the road and slowing to a steady walk.

When she gets to the location, she sees Adam, and pauses when she lands her eyes on him. Lilly smiles so wide she lets out a giggle through her nose. He is wearing a blue pair of swim shorts and a white tank top. The outline of his built body visible. He is standing by a blanket spread out on a rock

next to a beautiful water fall. There is a candle in the middle of the blanket. Adam extends a hand out to Lilly.

"May I?" He asks in a gentle voice. Lilly places her manicured hand into his and smiles.

They have a beautiful dinner that night and she laughs from his stories and he smiles from hers.

"It's a very warm night Lilly. Care for a swim?" He asks suddenly, in a sweet, funny voice.

Smiling, she replies "I would love too." in that girly voice she possesses. Adam watches her slip off her cover up to reveal her small bikini.

"Wow" he says in amazement, tracing his eyes up and down her body. Lilly feels the amazement his eyes carry from scanning over her body, the feeling pushes itself from her body to her mouth.

"What?" Lilly says with a smile, as if she doesn't feel that amazed feeling he shared with her.

"I've never see this good of a body in my life." He chuckles.

"Aw thank you" She replies in a flattered tone. He is the only one who made her portray a smile for this long. 'Why do I smile so much when I'm around him?' She wonders, her thoughts racing off. His angelic, boyish voice interrupts her thoughts.

"Hey Lilly! Look, what's that?!?" Adam yells pointing in the other direction.

"What's wh--" She is cut off by Adam grabbing her by the waist, lifting her up.

"Adam stop! Put me down!" She yells playfully with a laugh.

"Okay if you say so!" He says in a playful tone. He steps into the water and drops her playfully. "OUCH!" Lilly exclaims. "I think I cut my arm on a rock!" she exclaims, hergirly eyes slowly filling up with pain. She groans in pain as Adam lifts her with two arms and places her on a rock. He then gets onto the rock beside her and examines the small wound.

"Aww, would you like me to kiss it better?" He says, playfully teasing her. All she can do is laugh, now blocking out all the pain. He leans down and dramatically plants a kiss on her knee and she giggles from the feel of his lips on her wet knee. Then, their eyes meet and sparks appear to fly between them. All is silent except for the sound of the rushing water from the small water fall just ahead. He suddenly leans in for a passionate kiss causing her to lay back on the large rock, their lips moving in sync with one another, his lips pressed against hers.

Lilly suddenly pushes him up. "Is this right?" she asks him in a whisper, confused feelings spinning in her head. "Of course. Trust me Lilly, I won't hurt you." His smile begging her for a chance.

"Well everyone deserves a chance." she finally sys and pulls him in for another kiss. A kiss turns into making out. After a few beats, Lilly pulls away.

"I should get going now. Goodnight." Delight takes over her voice and pecks his cheek. She slips on her cover up dress and walks back home.
