Fun in the academy was only permitted on Saturdays between noon and half passed noon. So, you and Klaus didn't hesitate to escape to your secret spot as soon as you heard the first chime of the grandfather clock. By 12:01 you were both cuddle up together under one of the large trees that lined the end of the back yard.

Klaus' arm was draped over your shoulder, his fingers hanging low enough for you to reach up and play with them. His other hand trailed along your jawline, eyes sparkling beneath the rays of sunlight that peaked through the leaves as he stared down at you.

Your free hand now copied his actions, tracing his jawline, before your thumb dragged across his bottom lip, coaxing a wide smile to appear. His head dipped down, capturing you lips in a slow and sweet kiss as you snuggled deeper into him - if that were even possible.

You pull away for a moment, lips lingering over one another, noses grazing each other affectionately, and hot breaths fanning across your mouths. Thank God you both brushed your teeth.

"You're so beautiful," He reminded as his eyes opened, revealing those sparkling green eyes you've come to love.

There were a lot of things you've come to love these days, and all of them had seemed to include Klaus. His eyes. His hair. His laugh. His humor. Him. You loved him, and it scared you to admit that, because even in moments like this, moments of pure bliss, you still had reality. Your reality was the other six days, twenty-three hours, and thirty minutes of the week where you'd ignore one another until dinner came. Even then, he'd ignore you most days. You felt like a one of his drugs - just something he'd use to pass the time or make himself feel better. You enjoyed being his drug though, because in a way he was yours too. Both of you needed the other to get that high, that feeling that everything's alright, because you were so far above the clouds that nothing affected you anymore.

"Why can't we just stay like this forever," you sighed, your head dropping to his shoulder.

Klaus hummed, "Wish we could. He ran his hand over your hair, massaging your scalp before kissing the top of your head, "Just a few more years sweetheart." You kissed his shoulder, your heart fluttering at the name that rolled effortlessly off his tongue.

Your hand moved to the nape of Klaus' neck, scratching lightly at his skin as you kissed his skin. "You think you'll still want me then?" Your tone was mostly playful, concern underlining it, and Klaus couldn't help but frown.

"You don't think I would?" he countered, rubbing circles over your back and nuzzling his cheek against your hair. You shook your head, falling deeper into the crook of Klaus' neck. "Hey, c'mon, look at me," he pushes lightly at your shoulders, forcing you off of him. You concentrated your gaze on the bark on the tree, knowing that as soon as you looked into his eyes he'd see right through your facade. "Y/n," he whispered, his fingers gripping your chin and angling your face at him. Klaus' eyes soften upon looking at you, the worry and insecurity evident in your expression, "You actually think I won't want you after all this?" You didn't answer, your stomach churning at the thought. "I - I love you, y/n, and there's no way I'd ever let you out of my life."

You eyes widened, brows rising, and your heart rate speeding up by a mile, "You what?"

"Don't make me say it again if you don't feel the same way," he pleaded, his hands moving to the sides of you neck as his thumbs rubbed just below your jaw.

You gave him a shy smile, the corner of you lips threatening to widen further," Say it again."

The corner of his lips turned upwards, the left side raising higher than the other as he spoke softly, "I love you, y/n."

"I love you too, Klaus."
