It was a Monday morning. A bright sunny morning at that, at least. It was the second week of term of 11th grade. 

My phone flashed and started playing my ring tone. I reached and declined the call from my dad. That would be my alarm when my dad was at work. I flipped my covers off and sat up on my bed. My brother, Nathan, burst through my door. He grabbed his headphones from the floor.

"Wake up Red." He said, using my nickname.

My name was actually Ruby but he still calls me Red. He ruffled my hair as he walked out and I slapped his hand away.

I pulled myself up and walked into the bathroom. I stepped into the shower and let the hot water hit me. Stepping out, I wrapped a towel round me and walked into my room.

I dried my hair and went to my closet. I didn't have much clothes but I had enough. I pulled out my short denim shorts and my blue top to match. I slipped them on as I pulled my hair up into a ponytail. I didn't were make-up so I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs. I put the the bread in the toaster and waited for it to pop. I grabbed my phone and checked for any messages. I had two new messages, one from Taylor and one from Jenna. I opened the one from Taylor:

"Second week of school= goodbye freedom! The teachers are all kind last week and their attitudes will be completely different this morning, Its just not fair. x'

Pulling the toast out, I typed a reply.

':) Its not right, can't we have a little bit longer of them being nice? It's so rare, especially for our years. Lol. x'

I ate the toast as my phone lit up.

'Exactly!! Is Jenna still walking with us?'

I threw my plate in the sink as I texted Jenna.

'You walking with us ?'

I got an instant reply.

'Yep, see you in a bit."

'Jenna's walking with us.'

'Got it.'

I ran up stairs and grabbed a jacket and my blue converses. I slipped them on as I ran downstairs. I grabbed my bag and headed out the door, yelling a 'bye' to Nathan. I headed down the road and saw Taylor and Jenna waiting. I also saw two other girls, Michelle and Liz. Well, I didn't know they were joining us. It didn't particularly bother me but walking to school with four girls and getting on with only two doesn't always go down well.

Ten minutes later, we were walking into school when Emily came running over. She squealed and pulled Taylor into a hug.

"Taylor." She shouted.

Taylor just smiled at her. "Hey Em." She replied, calling her nickname.

Emily grabbed her phone of her and started going through it, while walking away. I laughed. Taylor snatched is back and whacked Emily on the arm.

"You have to stop doing that." She ignored and went round hugging and greeting the girls with us and the ones joining us.

She got to Jenna who was right next to me and asked her how she was. Jenna replied, abruptly ending the conversation. Emily scanned her eyes around to find some more girls. As she turned around, she spotted me.

"What, you didn't see me there?" I asked sarcastically. She rolled her eyes.

"Ugh, whatever!" She bellowed, storming back to the front of the group.

This time, she stole Taylor's bag. Nice to see you again Emily.
