''Thanks for watching Melanie for me while I'm at school, Mrs Morris.'' I thanked Kodie's mom.

''No problem, sweetie. Just make sure the school knows she isn't going to be there today.'' She told me.

''Yes ma'am. I will.''

''Hey, Aurora, we need to leave. School starts in 15 minutes and we are still sitting here.'' Kodie informed me as I finished talking to Mrs. Morris.

''Okay. Bye Mrs. Morris. I will pick Melanie up after school.'' I said grabbing my bags and heading out the door.

''Bye mom.'' Kodie's muffled voice was heard.

Isang along with the words to ''bruise my bones''. One of my favorite songs by SayWeCanFly. Kodie and I didn't talk much. In about 10 minutes we were at school. We bid our farewells and said to meet in front of the school at the end of the day.

I walked to my locker. Thankfully, my locker partner was there. I didn't like her that much, but it saved me the time and the trouble of opening the lock. As I got to the locker, she looked at me and and strutted away, leaving the lock open for me. I grabbed my English folder and put my math homework away.

Closing the locker and walking back to class, I saw Mark. Mark was the cute boy in none of my classes. I only got to see him in lunch and the hall. While awkwardly looking at him, I managed to trip twice, almost drop my stuff, and run into a pole. As I caught my last weird glimpse of him, I saw Alissah, the cheer captain. I should have known they were dating. It was just so obvious. Quarterback of the football team dating the captain of the cheer squad. Of course.

I slowly trudged into English. No one really knew who I was. I never talked to anyone. And no one talked to me. I just sat there, working on my test. After the test was over, Mr. Simpson announced we were gonna do a group project.

''Class, today we are going to do a project. I have already assigned your groups.'' The class groaned. But I was happy. I hated having to choose my own group. ''Let me find my list here....oh....that's not it....um... here it is! Okay, Leah, Brea, Austin, Cami, you are in a group together. Sammy, Alex, Liam, Aurora, You are a group. Sara, Diane, Max, Trent. That's a group. And last but not least, Cara, Mable, Shae, and Carter you are a group.''
