The girl walked towards the little boy. He was fiddling with a small gem. A sapphire. The dark blue precious metal glinted in the sunlight. She bent down, observing the stone in the little boy's hands. It was so pretty it had to be priceless. She then asked the boy if she could see the sapphire. The boy reluctantly handed it to her. She studied it closer, then gave it back to the boy. The boy looked down. The gem was heavier before. It was also a different color. Weird. The girl kept walking away, smiling. The sapphire glowed brightly in her hand, as she walked deep into the forest. By this time, the boy had caught on. He went out searching for her. He took the path he thought she used. He searched for the thief for almost an hour. It's intriguing how one wrong turn can be fatal. He turned, only to be greeted by a 7-foot-tall bear. The bear loomed over him. The boy's screams echoed across the land. Another life fell into clutches of me, as the mysterious thief watched in a nearby tree.
