"You're mine now," he said with a dark chuckle, stepping closer and closer to her. His finger traced the outline of her figure, filling Cassandra with revulsion and dread.

Why me? she wondered, her mind swirling in despair. What had I done to deserve this fate? His filthy hand moved closer to her core, and she watched helplessly as every shed of her dignity seemed to crumble away. Warm tears slid down her cheeks as she lay there, unable to resist.

She closed her eyes, retreating into the memory of that fateful day—the day when all hopes of light were swallowed by dark clouds of prejudice and abuse. The day when everything she cherished was torn from her.

The day she was sold.

Precious Tears follows the harrowing journey of Cassandra Lewis, an eighteen-year-old slave who is torn from her family and sold into a life of unimaginable brutality. Born into a world marked by cruelty and prejudice, Cassandra's hopes and dreams are shattered the moment she is auctioned to the highest bidder. Stripped of her dignity, she endures relentless physical and emotional abuse of her master, who seeks to dominate her spirit and crush her sense of identity.

This is a historical fiction novel written by;

Let it be known in this text that while this is a work of fiction, some parts of the story are inspired by historical realities, though not direct accounts. The book explores mature themes such as sexual abuse and slavery, set during the 1800s—a time when slavery was still a harsh and painful truth for many. The purpose of this story is not to demean any race but rather to shed light on the brutal past, focusing on the severe hardships African American woman endured. It aims to serve as a reminder of that cruel period while reflecting the resilience and suffering of those subjected to unimaginable cruelty.

I wrote this book because I believe racism continues to persist in our modern world, casting a long shadow over the progress we've made as a society. It remains an issue, sometimes overt, other times subtle, but always present. Despite our advancements, acceptance of all people, regardless of their culture or heritage, is not universal. Too often, judgements are based on outward appearances rather than on a persons character and inner beauty. My hope is that by reflecting on these historical truths, readers will recognize the importance of empathy and unity, leading us toward a future where racism and hatred no longer divide us.
