Picking up my phone and checking the time once again, I finally decided enough was enough and rang Madison. I tapped my fingers profusely on the table in frustration as I listened, waiting for her to pick up. Before she even had the chance to speak I started chastising her.
"Madison where are you? Where are any of you? I've been waiting here for 45 minutes all by myself and this creeper waiter keeps coming up to me and trying to make conversation. And I don't just mean usual waiter small talk, I mean he tried to sit down with me and chat me up"
"What? No, you shouldn't be there? I mean, I couldn't make it, my mom just called and said I needed to come over right away, which means I couldn't give Annie a ride over, so I told her to ask you for a ride, but clearly she didn't, and I guess Annie told Natalia that she couldn't get a ride or didn't want to go or something, and you know as soon as Annie does something Natalia has to do the same so-"
"Madisooooon" I whined, cutting her off. Why couldn't you tell me directly that nobody was showing up?"
"I didn't realise! I thought they would still go." There was a pause on the line. "I'm sorry, Evie" she said guiltily.
"Ugh" I grunted, pinching the bridge of my nose and closing my eyes. I swapped my phone to the other ear. "Ok, ok, it's not your fault I guess. Ugh I just wished someone could have told me what was going on! I've been here for ages Mads, and I'm really hungry"
"Order something" she suggested.
"I'm not ordering something and eating it alone. I'm just going to go home and order in, or maybe I'll pick something up on the way home."
"Alright" I could hear her sigh her condolences. I hung up and sighed heavily again. Every time. It happened every time. I was always the last to know about something, the last to hear about any plans. Sometimes I didn't even find out, the three of them would make plans, forget to tell me and go without me. In this case they forgot to uninvite me. I was the invisible friend. The shy, awkward friend. Easily forgotten, easy to get along without. My life isn't all misery I guess, I have a nice family. At the very least they remember to invite me over for Christmas and other holidays. I stuffed my phone in my bra and slid out of the booth, stood up and straightened my deep blue dress. I picked my purse up off of the red clothed booth, the empty booth which was still perfectly laid out and untouched, apart from the half empty glass of water I had been brought at the beginning of the evening. I turned around and made my way to the door, passing the podium where people made and confirmed their reservations.
"I'm sorry, there aren't any tables for 5 at the moment, we're fully booked right now. I apologise." said one of the employees.
Looking at my feet as I trudged away from my booth my head lifted a bit hearing this sentence, knowing that I had just left a perfectly good booth that could fit five.
"But that's not right! We had a reservation, there should be a table free!" Someone fought back.
"Actually, excuse me" I walked up to the side of the podium, being hidden by a plant from whoever wanted the table. "I've just left a booth suitable for at least 6 people. We won't be needing it anymore" I informed him sadly. He looked at me, and to the people in front of him, caustiously, and then back to me.
"Ok, I think a booth has just opened up" he said brightly to his customers. I half smiled to myself as I rounded the plant, still looking at the floor and being met by a large pair of black boots. "Oh excuse me" I said, looking up, way up, into the eyes of Andy Biersack.
"No, my fault. Hey, are you the one who just let us have your booth? Thank you!" he said graciously. I peered round him to the remaining members of Black Veil Brides standing behind him and smiling at me.
"Yes, uhm, yes, you're welcome. Wow, you're Black Veil Brides" I said happily and slightly shocked.
"Oh, you're a fan?" I heard Jake pipe up from the back ground. He stepped forward. "Let us sign something for you. It's the least we can do" he offered.
"Oh, uhh" I stuttered, wondering what they could sign considering I was so simply equipped tonight. I felt my purse tug around my neck. "Oh here!" I pointed out my purse to them, holding it up for them to sign and thanking some mystical being for making me decide to bring my white purse and not any of my other darkly coloured ones. The boys whipped out a marker from seemingly no where and happily signed my purse with their names, while the waiter ready to escort them to my previous booth waited idly by.
"Thanks so much, enjoy your booth!" I grinned at them, comfortably setting my purse back down to my side with glee.
"Thank you for the booth" Andy laughed. The laugh of an angel. No what, pft, I didn't say that, gosh. "Enjoy the rest of your night"
"I hope I will" I said quietly to myself as they all walked passed me. I looked back just as I was about to walk through the door and saw them all sitting down and making themselves comfy in the booth.
I was in my car, kicking off my heels so I could drive easily and thought about where the best place would be for me to pick up some food. Coming to the conclusion that there was no where on the way home that was worthy enough to fill my empty stomach I decided to order food, but that would mean waiting another 30 minutes or something after I'd gotten home and I'm hungry! Wait, I can order it here on my cell! I pulled my phone out of my bra again and and searched through my contacts for my favourite pizza place. So sue me, I like food and I have a fast metabolism. I was taking full advantage of being able to stuff my face and not put too much weight on that I couldn't easily burn off again. And who doesn't have at least one fast food place's number saved onto their phone? I for one have plenty and I'm proud. FOOD!
Quickly ordering my usual pizza, knowing happily that I wouldn't have to wait as long I would have if I had ordered it once I was already home, it finally sunk in that I had just met one of the bands I loved. Black Veil Brides! I offered my booth up to Black Veil Brides, and they signed my purse! I took my strap off over my head and held my purse in my lap, studying their individual signitures. Smiling once again, I opened up my purse to put my phone away before I started driving, and noticed some more writing on the inside of the flap. 'Thanks for the booth' with a winky face and number followed underneath. That son of a bitch Ashley Purdy has given me his number. God damn I have Ashley Purdy's number!
