Kimberley's Story

Chapter 8

When we got there I saw someone I didn't think I would see in a long time. I got there and my dad was standing at the counter. I was shocked and I guess it was obvious because Tim asked what was wrong. I told him my dad was here, "Cool, so I get to meet him?" "He and my mom got divorced two summers ago" I replied. All he said was "oh," but then he hugged me and asked if I wanted to go somewhere else. I told him no I want to see him. We went in and i went up behind him and poked his shoulder. He jumped and turned around. Seeing his face again i thought I would be happy, but I instantly started crying. He hugged me and talked to me and comforted me. Tim walked up and asked what kind of pizza I wanted. I looked up at my dad and he had this mischievous look in his eye that he has when he's about to pull some kind of trick. He whispered to me, "Who's this guy?" I told him "My boyfriend." He began asking Tim a bunch of questions, like: Why do you like my daughter? Have you ever done drugs? Who are your parents? etc. After every answer he pretended to get madder and madder, and Tim looked very nervous. Then my dad raised his hand and went and pounded Tim on the back so hard he had to take a step forward to avoid falling all the while laughing, when Tim realized my dad was just joking, he loosened up and soon all three of us were laughing. He bought us our pizza, we both wanted cheese. Then we said our goodbyes, I gave my dad a hug, and Tim shook his hand. He pulled me aside after Tim walked out and said "He seems like a nice kid, tell me if he starts to change, I'll talk to him" I hugged him one more time then then ran to catch up with Tim. "Your dads really cool" he told me. "Ya, he is" "wanna go see a movie?" he asked "Ya sure." "any ideas what to see?" He asked. "What about Finding Nemo?" "alright, perfect I always loved that movie." On our way there we held hands and it was perfect"
