Convocation Ceremony

Jennifer's P.O.V.
Well, well, after so many years we have finally completed our studies and we have our convocation ceremony today wherein we would be handed our degree certificate. Oh my god! I never thought I would make through this. Even Kate, she was also getting her final degree certificate.

"Oh my god! I'm freaking out! What should I wear?" Kate asked me anxiously.

"Wear whatever because we would have these big black robes on our clothes." I shrugged.

"I wish the boys as well as mom and dad would have attended this ceremony. I really wanted them here. But the boys have their stupid interview lined up at the same time." I threw my hands in the air, frustrated.

"Oh come on! That's fine. They were present at our graduation ceremony. Its ok if they aren't with us on our post graduation convocation. I wished them to be here too, okay."

"Yeah!"

We reached the great auditorium of our Uni. We had to sit according to our names and roll numbers so I was in the front and my sister was in the back (you know alphabetically).

The ceremony started off with some boring speeches of chief guests and the dean of our Uni.

Then they started with the actual ceremony of giving away degrees.

There were many people before me, even our friends.

"Ms. Jennifer Payne." The chief guest announced my name finally. There was a loud round of applause as obviously because I was one of the Payne sisters and not because what I have achieved.

I got on the stage with a huge smile and I saw something really shocking.

My brother, my boyfriend and all of my best friends are here, clapping and cheering for me. The girls went crazy when they stood up and applauded for me. I felt so proud. Atleast there was somebody except Kate here from our family.

I was awestruck. I pointed my degree to them and Kate who was few rows ahead of them. She was also equally shocked like me.

I went back to my seat.

Soon after Kate's name was announced.

"Ms. Katherine Payne." She went up the stage and took her certificate. The boys again stood up and clapped for her and do did I. The crowd also applauded very loudly.

After the ceremony we all threw our hats in the air as normally they do at a convocation. There was a small party for the us but we didn't attend it. Instead we went back to our room with the boys, away from the crowd where we would get some privacy.

"Congrats sweetheart! You done well!" Zayn said to Kate. "And you too. Hats off to you. Its not easy to be gynaecologist. You rock!" He saluted her mockingly.

We all chuckled.

"Stop! My sister has also done a great job. Even being a psychiatrist is not easy. You have to be a lot patient." I said giving her a smile.

"Yeah and I'm proud of you both. I can proudly tweet today that my sisters are officially doctors now. You don't know how am I feeling right now." He said and pulled us into his arms.

"Thanks a lot, bro."

"Yeah, thanks big bro."

"Oh its dad on the phone. Must be for you both." Liam gave his phone to us and we kept it on speaker mode.

Kate: Hey dad!

Dad: Hey! Congratulations both of you. I'm feeling so proud today. My daughters are officially doctors now. I knew you both would be no less than Liam.

Me: Thanks a lot dad!

Kate: Dad I'm upset with you. You didn't come to the convocation. We both really wanted you and mom to be there.

Mom: Hey my sunshines. I'm so sorry we couldn't make it. By the way congratulations.

Kate: Thanks mum. Okay now we gotta pack our bags and leave this Uni.

Dad: Okay. Bye. Love you.

Kate: Bye mom dad, we love you too.

We packed our things and it was decided that we leave when the party is going on so there would not be much chaos. Paul had already kept two cars ready.

We sneaked out of the hostel. Now there was only few distance left till the exit when we heard somebody calling us.

"Hey Ms. Twins. You can't leave like that." I recognised the voice. It was George. He's such a sweetheart how did I forget to say him goodbye.

We all turned around and there were our friends George, Darcy, Madeline and  Tom smiling at us. I told the boys to wait for us in the car with our luggage.

"No way. I was going to call you through Skype the next day. I'm so sorry." I said and gave them an apologetic smile.

"No you broke the promise, Jen. You forgot our friendship. I had helped you so much with the notes when you were sick." George smirked.

"No George I'm really sorry. You know we couldn't wait till sunrise otherwise it..."

"Come on, forget it. Come here." He said and pulled me into a hug. Others joined us too and we shared an emotional moment. It was quite cozy in there.

"Hey Kate, I'll remember our catfight." Madeline winked at Kate.

"Yeah baby. Even me." She said in a sporty tone.

"Hey please let me meet 1D once. I don't know next time when will I get this chance." Darcy pleaded.

We nodded and took them to the car.

Darcy and Madeline were fangirling like a crazy. Darcy was a Harry fan and Madeline was a Zayn fan. They all took pictures with our friends. Tom and George had become very good friends of the boys.

"Okay. Now we gotta go. Hurry up guys." Paul ordered us.

We both hugged them goodbyes.

Last one was George for me. I hugged him for a longer time because he was such a good friend.

"Thank you for everything, George. I'll miss you."

"Thank you for a giving me such a good friend, Jen. I'll miss you too." He whispered in my hair.

We pulled out and waved him as I drove off.

"He's sweet guy, right?" Kate smirked.

"Yeah he is." I smiled.

"Babe please cuddle with me." Zayn pouted.

"Sure Zaynie" Kate pecked his lips.

I snuggled close to Niall and drifted in sleep.

I hope that wasn't boring!
