Kate's P.O.V.

I was sitting in front of my senior, Dr. Rosalie Hamilton. She was very beautiful with brunette looks.

"Princeton student, huh?" She asked looking through my CV.

"Yes!"

"Oh I see. You had got scholarship there? Nice! I'm impressed." She said in her high pitched voice.

"Thank you very much ma'am." I smiled.

I was still nervous. I was looking around her cabin.

"Please call me Dr. Rosalie!" She said sarcastically.

"Okay!" I muttered.

"So I think you deserve a cabin! I have a spare one as the doctor was transferred somewhere else. I'll get it cleaned for you before the clinical hours start, alright?

I grinned and left her cabin. I was sitting in the cafeteria when I saw Jenny running outside in her apron.

I rushed towards her.

"Hey Jenny! Hey!" I shouted.

" Yeah?"

"What's the matter?"

"Um a baby in the children's ward is suddenly having a short of breath so I'm told to rush there. See ya." She said quickly and hurried from there.

I followed Jen to the children's ward since Dr. Rosalie said she would inform me.

There were babies in the incubators all around the room. All of them sleeping soundly, just one baby who was breathing heavily.

"How long is it happening?" Jen asked the mother of the child who was standing next to the baby. She checked the baby with her stethoscope.

"Just a few minutes ago!" She said anxiously.

"We would have to do some tests. I think the baby has developed asthma." She said in a stern tone.

Oh wow! She was very professional. Like she didn't even notice I was with her. Well, I'm not offended. I'm happy she's working sincerely.

"Nancy, page Dr. Jake. Tell him there's an emergency in the incubator room."

"He's gone! He said you have to handle it today."

"What?" She sighed.

A nurse came and whispered something in Nancy's ear. Nancy was an other nurse.

"Ma'am, your cabin is ready and you are on with your clinical hours." Nancy said.

I thanked Nancy and turned to a confused Jen.

"Jen, I'm on with my clinical hours, so I'll see you during lunch."

"Okay, yeah. Will do. Good luck." She said rubbing her forehead and ordering something to the nurse which I couldn't hear because I was out after that.

I entered my cabin on the 7th floor. It was pretty good. Atleast I have my own cabin now. There was a table with a moving chair for me and two normal chairs for the patient. There was a bed with a curtain across it.

The telecom rang.

It was Lily.

"Ma'am should I send in your first patient?"

"Yes, absolutely."

I was having an adrenaline rush in my body. Kate, you can do it. You are the psychiatrist. You can't be hyper.

"Come in." I said as I heard a knock on the door.

There was a small girl with her mum.

" Hi sweetie, what's your name?"

"Aimee!" She said in a low voice.

I turned to her mother who was quite worried so I couldn't stop to ask her what's the matter.

"Would you like to tell me?"

"Yeah, I'm Avery, her mom.Um, I used to live with my boyfriend. We were together since high school and he was very sweet and understanding at first. But when I told him about me being pregnant, he started misbehaving with me. I used to do all the work at home despite my condition. He used to stay out all day and come late at night, drunk. When Aimee was born, he used to.." her voice started trembling. She bit her lower lip.

I gently placed my hand over hers and told her to continue.

"He used to beat me and Aimee. I have saved Aimee many times, telling him to hurt me not her. I left him a month ago. From last week Aimee is having panic attacks."

My eyes shot wide open and I looked at Aimee and then her mom. I thought of Chris but I'm strong now. I won't get panic attacks as I'm the psychiatrist and I know how to control my mind.

"Mmhmm. So how often does it occur?" I inquired writing all the things on a paper.

"She had it for two days. I mean she gets it once in a day. But it occurs only twice." She said in a soft voice.

"Okay. It will be fine, honey." I promised Aimee.

That poor girl didn't have anything to say so she just nodded.

"I won't give her any pills because she is too small. I would suggest just keep her engaged in activities. Send her to ballet class or skating or whatever she's interested in. Keep talking to her. Read her stories which will make her happy and I will give you next month's appointment to check her progress."

"Thank you very much, doctor." She said politely.

"No problem." I smiled. "Here's a toffee for you, Aimee." I handed her a toffee.

"Say thank you, Aims." Her mom told her.

"Oh that's fine. Its okay. She's cute." I smiled.

They both left.

The day went very smoothly and it was 9. That means time to leave. I kept all my pages in the drawer and headed to see Jen.

She was nowhere.

"Hey Lily? Where's Dr. Jennifer?"

"Oh she checked out in the afternoon." She said.

"Okay thanks. Bye." I said checking out.

Why did she leave so early? It was her first day right? She didn't tell me anything about leaving early. No calls, no voice mails, no messages.

I called on her phone as I unlocked my car.

Pick up, pick up, pick up. Come on pick up the phone, Jen. Damn, disconnected!

I called Niall. Maybe she was with him.

Nope. She's not with him too.

Liam? No, how would Liam know? He's busy with his wife now.

Gosh! What to do?

I started the car's ignition and sped the car to our house.

Oh no, Jenny is missing!

Check out the next part for more details.

Bye. Love ya.<3
