Dear Diary,

March 6th

Adventures can be either good or bad. Life threatening or life changing. It seems to be a hit or miss. Hopefully this one is a hit. I wish Aunt Zoe was here to give us that note. I know we would have denied we were ready, and she would have convinced us otherwise. It's who she was, she was always optimistic and there for us at all times. I wish I was optimistic like her. I try giving advice to my sisters to follow so they can get through the hard times, but for some reason I can never seem to follow it. The adventure ahead of us will hopefully give us the answers we need. Whether there are others like us, how they manage, if there is a school for us.. or is that supposed to be the Institution that the three of us are supposed to be running? Answers left to be answered.

We strided into the mine with both confidence and worry. I noticed the rocks plummeting from the walls to the floor in a structured pattern. A new opening became visible next to the entrance. The opening was shaded, and sloped down to what I was going to guess was the floor of the mine. For my sister's safety, I slid down first to investigate. "I'll be back. Stay here until I say it's safe to come down," I told Lizzie and Rebekah before proceeding.

On the way to the bottom, I questioned why. I went over every possible reason why Aunt Zoe was never able to give us the note. This was hard for me to think about. Either she had medical issues she never told us about, or someone had went after her. She wasn't supposed to die, she was only 43! I let my messy thoughts rein free until I finally reached the bottom. My surroundings were bright and more colorful than anything I'd ever seen. Neon and pastel colors consumed the books on several shelves, luring me to pick one up. Each one seemed to have been connected with the ancestors of the Rozrile family. I picked up a few more books off the shelves and skimmed through its scripture, hoping to find something about my parents. "You can come down now guys," I called up to my sisters. "Books couldn't hurt anyone unless the person hates reading," I said quietly to myself before snickering.

An hour later, we still haven't found anything on our parents. The books were all about We wanted to give up, but knew that we needed them; the need for our parents drove us to search for answers. Without them or Aunt Zoe, we might get sent to foster care with the risk of being separated.

In an attempt to shut out the dark thoughts, I dropped the stack of books that were in my hands onto the floor without any form of care. There's no escape from my darkness.

I felt my body rise from the ground with weight being added to my back but paid no mind to the matter. Instead, I focused on racing out of the mine alone and letting my wings take me home. I ignored my sisters' protests and left, heading towards our house. There's only so much a bottle can hold before everything is released into the air. I've been bottling my emotions for way too long in hopes it'd keep my sisters safe. They're all I have left, I can't imagine a life without them.

After entering the house and feeling its empty memories, I directed myself to my room and tried to sleep the day off, but failed as a memory of my Aunt struck me. I had promised her the night of her death that I would take care of myself and my sisters after giving her one last hug that day. I hadn't just failed her, I failed my sisters as well.

What would I do to change that?
How would I live with that?

The next morning, I optimistically made an agenda for the day to follow. I knew that if I just kept sitting there I wouldn't reach any of my goals. I got out of bed and picked out an outfit for the day.

Once I concluded my morning routine, I woke up Lizzie and Rebekah to immerse in our adventure forth

Once I concluded my morning routine, I woke up Lizzie and Rebekah to immerse in our adventure forth. I swiveled their doors open like I normally do, but to my dismay they weren't there. I called their names from one end of the house to the other and checked every room before I realized..

They're gone.
