Last Breath

Chapter 2

Sense then  has changed.  sometimes i wonder why i do this and others it makes me feel like im the only one who has this life, it makes me feel special. I've had points were i just want to kill myself but then again i don't want to let everyone down.

As i attach my bow to my belt i run out the door letting the wind shut it back for me. Not looking back I start to sprint dashing through the trees and blending in with my surroundings as leaves fall off the trees swirling around me. I probably got 5 miles away from the hut and i start to slow down to catch my breath and to look at the map to see where i am.

I pulled the wrinkly map out and unrolled it looking at the land of Ashplem. My eyes scanning the map very quickly i quickly place my finger on where i am right now and then i move my finger to where i need to go to. Looking at the map it says to go to Forest Lanny which is about a weeks trip there. I roll the map back up and slide it into a small pouch and tighten it to make sure its secure. Finally looking up i see its getting closer to night as i start walking to continue my journey for that spider.

Getting further and further out into abyss I look up and see millions of stars twinkling up in the dark sky. Deciding to get some rest for tomorrow i climb up in a really tall tree that no one would see me in from the ground, but then while I'm getting my self ready i see a small dim light coming from a nearby tree. Looking around that no one saw me i jumped tree to tree to the tree with the dim light. Grabbing onto the trunk of the tree with the dim light above i dig my long nails to climb my way up. When getting to the thick pile of leaves piled above i dig my way though and look at the bright lit up tree city. "B...b..bu..but how?"

A voice behind me with a crisp lovely voice says " Well the is Skyrome, and whom might you be Young lady?" as i feel a gentle hand poke my back.

"I'm Amber..." turning around with such speed being startled. "when was this here i never saw this here all the times i went thought here how come i never heard about it and who are you?" as  i rambled on.

"You have a mouth full to say there. I'm Micheal, would you like me to show you around?" as he holds a hand out to help me up. I look around not sure if i should but i take his hand startled by his strength pulling me up to as i reach to his chest. I blushed a little, not ever being so close to a guy before and i pull back to see his face. My mouth almost dropped open to how gorgeous he is and so beautiful.

His jaw line is broad and his eyes are crystal blue with that hint of glitter (that lovey effect :P). His hair a shaggy brown with faded red tips on his hair covering his eyes a bit and he has that Sly smile on his face. I almost fainted at the sight of him looking at me in the eyes.

"umm..a..ahh...yes please" looking down at the ground blushing trying not to show him."Um could you tell me, are there any other people here too?" He looks down at me and turns me around so im under his arm.

"why yes there are others here too. I think you should meet them too." As we walk across the bridges tree to tree showing me where everything is. Finally at the end of the tour i see something fly behind me as i flip around moving his arm out of the way seeing a girl land and unhooking a latch on a rope. "Oh, this is rose who just got back from hunting." Waving a hand towards her as she flips her hair out of her face. Getting a good look at her she looked beautiful also, she has green catlike eyes and a kind face. Her hair is a short dirty blond and she has a nose piercing, but looking even harder i could see her long ears popping out of her hair almost as like she was an elf.

"Hello there, I'm Rose and you might be?" as she holds out a hand to shake mine

"I'm Amber, it's a pleasure to meet you." As starting to get used to speaking now "I have a question for you, but...are you a...elf?" being a bit shy to ask this question. Rose looks from me to Micheal and back to me startled.

"How did you figure that out?"

"well you have your ears sticking out or your hair" trying to sound convincing

"There must be more people don"t just point things out like that.....So whats  your secret?"

"ME? HOW I HAVE NOE SECRET???" in a very stupid and noticeable tone that i was lying. The area got real quiet as the two stared at me with concerned looks. With a big sigh i decided to tell them. "Alright I hate to be pressured, but I'm an abandoner i hunt things for a living....." No one spoke as they just stared at me in shock. Oh no! I wasn't suppose to tell anyone. I'm in big trouble now...
