Last Breath

chapter 6

I finished breakfast before everyone else and left the dinning hall, heading towards my room. My head buzzing with things i said and what i shouldn't of said. Opening my door quickly, my hand shaking, I grabbed a sheet on the bed and laid it on the floor neatly.  Looking through draws, I found a bunch of clothes my size and I gathered them up. Placing the clothes on on by one on the sheet, I folded up the sheet like a satchel . I grabbed the ends of the satchel and tied it around my waist so it felt comfortable.

Many things when't through my head at the time like, 'how can i stay here any longer,' or, 'everyone thinks I'm a rat, I know it.' My hand reached out for my bow and placed it over my head, letting it dangle on my left shoulder. My arrows where hooked into the bow so i didn't have to worry about those. I reached down my boot to make sure that my wand was still there.

My face turned numb as I felt bad for doing this, but I had to leave, i just don't fit in. I ran to my door and opened the door so hard that it came swinging back to close. I kept running and running till my hair flew in my face and i ran right into Michael. He hugged me close and asked  me in a calm voice "where are you going Amber?

I curled up into him as he went to sit down in the middle of the bridge putting me in the middle of his lap. "I just can't take it here," I say as tears start to pour out. "Everyone things i'm a pampered girl so they all pamper me, but you guys just over due it at times. I just don't belong here I need to adventure , that's me."

"Amber you could of told me sooner and I would of done something. Now I see what needs to be done," as his voice gets louder "I think we all should adventure with you."

"Really?" I pull my head back to look at him a bit confused on why.

"Sure, all we have to do is tell the others. Anyways we still have to protect you," pointing at the tattoo on my arm.

"Oh ya, I forgot." as I get off his lap and lend him a hand out to help him up. When he gets up he reaches for something in his pocket. It takes him awhile till he pulls out an acorn top. I look at him a bit confused again thinking what else will they come up with.

He places the acorn top under his thumbs making a "V" shape hole. He takes a deep breath and blows from where the "V" is and a loud annoying noise comes from it. All of a sudden i see everyone here and seeing that Max dragging is Jake to get to us. "Alright listen up," Michael says clasping his hands together. "Amber is not a pampered little girl at all and i think we just got that today. She has requested that she go on her normal adventures, But we still must protect her So meet by the ladder in one hour."

Everyone disperses in different directions leaving Michael and I there. "Thanks Michael, but one mess up. I'm not a little girl at all." He gives me a smirk and leads me to his room so he can get his stiff put together.

He opens the door for me and I sit down on his bed. I see him pull a knapsack out of a drawer filled with clothes already packed and plops it by the door. thinking to myself that he must have been thinking that i would of done something like this. Out of no where I see him running to the bed and belly flopping on it like a little kid. I start to giggle as he joins in chuckling. "Looks who's the little kid now," I say

"Ya have a problem with it cuz you have to live with it," he says acting like a 5 year old.

I stick out my tongue at him and dive towards him tickling him, "then watch out for the tickle monster!" He starts squirming out trying to get me to stop. He grabs my wrists and flips me over so I'm on the bed pinned.

"Nope, I think you should watch out for the Michael monster," keeping me pinned and starts tickling me. He tickled me so much I could of peed right there and now. I'd yell out stop once in a while, but he never did and kept tickling me. He finally stopped so i can catch my breath, but he stilled had me pinned.

"You are right I do have to watch out for the Michael monster," I say giggling. I close my eyes for one second and Michael is kissing me. I go with the flow kissing him, because I'm getting used to it, but I'm also i guess having feelings for him. My cheeks turn flush as he stops so we can have a breath and he kisses me again.

I pull back and crawl out from under him and look at the sun clock. "We should get going," still blushing. He gets off the bed and walks up to me pulling me close to him.

We got to the ladder exactly in one hour and every ones here. "Alright every ones here! Yay first adventure," I hear Rose yell practically jumping on top of Max.

"Just hold your butt Rose we still need someone to run to the dinning hall to grab a day of food so we can enjoy our last good meal," Michael says.

"I'll go get the food," I blurt out.

"I'll go with her," Jake says before anyone can say anything.

"Alright I guess just be quick," Michael says. Jake and I dash around the corner to the dinning hall and we slow our pace down when we get far away from the group.

"Amber... Did you make your decision yet?"

"Well kinda I guess."

"Can you tell me?"

"Um... Ya I guess we can still be friends."

"Alright...Thanks...Amber," getting a bit red in the face. We kept walking on till we got to the dinning hall. Jake grabbed a plastic bad from a door nob and I start handing him food to put in the bag. "Amber I probably said this before and I never lie, but you are the prettiest girl i've ever met." The room went silent after that till we left the dinning hall.

"Jake... Why do you keep trying to like me even though you know I like someone," I ask.

"Well, for the truth I have feelings for you. When we met a few weeks ago I thought I saw an angel in front of me, but it was you instead."

I blush and stuttered when I said, "Tha-nk you that's re-ally...kind bu-t I'm sorry I don't feel the same," slowing down my pace.

"Oh, Ya you thing," he said stopping in the middle of the bridge and stopping me from turning the corner from the others. "I'm sure of that, but my dream keeps moving forward for you."

I sighed and turn to face him and grabbed both of his hands. "Keep your dreams I'm not trying to crush them, but I do think there is another person out there," I said taking a deep sigh and closing my eyes. I open my eyes to see Jake kissing me and some how I'm enjoying it.

Jake's wings unfold from his back and he picks me up like how Michael does and lightly hovers 3 feet off the ground and flying towards the others. The others see me and Michael's face turns a bright red. "Here you go, Amber land ho," Jake says turning to Michael with a sly/casual look on his face and says, "Amber got tired of walking."

Max starts to chuckle finally catching onto Michael's and Jake's head butting fights over me. I start to walk yo Michael to hand him the bag of food. He takes it and stashes it hastily in his knapsack. "OK, lets get a move on people," as I see Jake dive down to the ground and landing gently on his feet.

Everyone else takes the latter down as they take there time. Jake folds his wings back up and pats me on the head while sticking his tongue out at Michael. Rose was purple in the face trying to keep her laughs in.

I adjusted my satchel and bow making sure it's all secure. "All right," I say in a serious tone, "lets go on out adventure," as a heavy fog rolled in on us as we disappeared deep in the forest.
