The night was cold and lonely till I heard chirping in the fall trees, telling me that the sun is rising. Moving my arms a bit to get the blood moving around and rubbed my elbows feeling the rope indent on my elbows. I stretched out towards the sun acting like i've been a statue sense the sun went down yesterday. "Good morning world." I say with joy, happy that I'm finally better.
A few minutes later i see Jake walking out of his room and towards me with a glum tired face like he never went to bed."Good morning Amber, how was your night?" he asked.
"Eh, cold and lone some like always." I say with sarcasm.
"He he funny little girl. Hey look I'm sorry about yesterday , I kind of got carried away. It's just that your so..." He couldn't put his finger on the word.
"Ugly?" i say
"No."
"Dirty?"
"No."
"The worst person you've ever met?" I say sarcastically.
"I know! Gorgeous!" he says happily yet embarrassed. My jaw dropped and I didn't know what to say." Can we just start over Amber? As friends?" he said.
"Um, ah I don't know what to say, I think I'll think it over on just all what happened when you got here." I say messing with my long hair and brushing it back with my fingers.
"OH. Alright than whatever you want to do." He said as i looked him in the eyes with sorrow. He turned around and started walking to the dinning hall. I sighed and started to walk to Michael's room and opened the door to see him still sleeping away. A small smile appeared on my face thinking how cute people look like when they are sleeping.
Being in his room last night i never really realized what his room looked like. his room is a dark green with Brown bordering the walls. They were all scratched up by human nails, wondering to myself if he had a fight with another person or he was fighting with himself. Getting closer to the walls to get a better look at them , they looked a bit fresh like they happened last night. On the corner of my eye I see something shinny coming from a slightly opened box.
I opened the box all the way and saw a necklace with a black feather and a string of three different colored beads. one bead was blue, another was dark red, and the last is a dark green. All three of the beads have a stripe of silver on them. I picked it up and hung it on one of the pegs on Michael's bed. The room was illuminated with the bright sun shinning in on Michael's sleeping face. I walked on the other side on his bed where his back is and I sat down gently nudging him with my hand. "Michael, Michael time to wake up." I said calmly.
He rolled over and rubbed his eyes while yawning and said "Good morning beautiful>" smiling at me. He sat up in his bed as the covers slipped down showing his muscular arms and chest. His chest has a long scar gong crossed it, going over his muscles. Unknowingly he gave my a kiss on my cheek.I blushed and smiled as I reached over the bed for the necklace on the bed post.
"Hey, Michael what is this?" as i held up the necklace in front of him.
"Oh, that." he said as he took it from my and and unlatched the hook. "This is for you Amber." Holding it up in front of me and flipped my hair on the side by my shoulder. he put his arms around my my neck as he clipped the necklace together."Perfect." He said said bringing his hands back to get a good look at it on me.
"Thank you Michael." I said blushing a bit more. "Oh yeah I came here to tell you it's time to eat."
"Well thank you for getting me up lovely." as he removed the covers to get up, still in jeans thank god, and reached over for a white T-shirt.
"You know what Michael I..." Trying to put my finger on the sentence. "I think that I'll start walking to the dinning hall." Not really what i intended the sentence to be, but i didn't have the guts to say 'Hey make sure u and Jake don't get into wars over me.'
"Here I'll walk walk with you." jogging to the door to open it be for I walked out the door . "How was your night?" he asked, closing the door.
"Cold, lonely, boring." I say
"Well that doesn't sound the best." he said grabbing my waist and pulling me closer to him.
"Neither was breaking my leg or being the last abandoner." I say glumly.
"Yes, well you can't just jump to conclusions like that, because if you whern't an abandoner we would of never met." trying to cheer me up.
"You are right about that I guess." I say getting a bit better with a slight smile on my face. "what was your life be for all of this?"
"My life? Well I have to say rough and cruel. I had to live on my own at the age of five." he said trying to answer the main part of my question very quickly. "Oh the dinning hall is just ahead. That walk felt short."
"Ya it was." I said moving my head closer to his side leaning it there. He was I guessed surprised that I did that. We both see Jake walk into the dinning hall very causal and Michael locks eyes on him as he enters the doors.
Getting to the front doors Michael opens the door for us and we walk in as I hear Max make a whistling noise and yelling out " Bow Wow! Look at those two love birds!" as Rose giggles and did a quiet clap.
Michael gets down to my ear and whispers "He's just jealous that I have you and not him." and chuckles as I giggle with him.
"Come over here Amber." as Rose pats on her chair next to her, with food in front of it. Michael lets go of me and I bounce over by Rose. Michael walked over by Max who was making goo goo eyes at him. no one really noticed Jake who was getting his food in the kitchen and leaving to sit by the others. He plops down his try right by me and pulls out a chair and sits down. Rose and I are blabbering on about our nights and turns the conversation to Max. I stopped talking in there conversation and turn to face Jake and smile. "Hi Jake."
"Hi Amber." he said then shoving a fork full of scrambled eggs in his mouth. I realize that I haven't touched my food yet. It had scrambled eggs, bacon, and three rolls of sausage with a glass of orange juice. I take a piece of bacon and num on it. It was good. I chewed and swallowed the bacon as all the yummy flavors filled my mouth.
"Amber have you've ever have bacon be for?" I hear Jake ask me.
I looked at him a bit upset. "No, well the last time i've had a meal like this was when i was three."
Then what have you've been eating for the past 16 years?" Jake asked.
"I've been hunting with my bow-n-arrows and eating cooked deer, rabbit, and rat. For fruits and veggies i ate herbs and carrots. I rarely found any fruit." I say sounding depressed about my life.
When Jake asked that question everyone stopped talking and wanted to hear my answer. Now that they heard it, it was worse then there life. At that moment i could of barged out and ran away but i sat there in an awkward bubbling conversation.
