Dork Diaries: Brandon and Nikki's Prom

I rush to Brandon's house to see if he's okay. I hope he is. When I get there I see him through the window crying. Poor Brandon. I ring the doorbell. He answers. His poor face is all red and I see tears running down his face but he tries to hide it from me. I give him a big hug. Unluckily, since Mackenzie lives a few houses over, she saw us hugging and came over. Brandon said "Go away Mackenzie. I have to talk to Nikki in private." Mackenzie said "Brandon, you know I have a bird bath at my house ... I know you love birds so do you wanna come over?"  "Ahem?" I say. Mackenzie glared at me so evil I could feel her wrath in my soul. But I ignored it. Brandon took me inside and held his leg in the door to keep Mackenzie out. Then, he quickly took his leg away and shut the door. Brandon and I could see Mackenzie throwing a tantrum out the window I laughed. Brandon kind of giggled. He would've laughed hard if he was okay. "Brandon what's wrong?" I said. " Well... We will talk about that later. The thing I wanted to tell you is.... Um ....I know I already asked you to prom but I wanted to make sure you knew this. Well, Nikki... I really like you. I have since 8th grade. I know Mackenzie is SUCH a pushover and tries to stop you from getting to me at any cost. I hate that evil grin of hers and I know you do too. I really really like you Nikki. I hope you feel the same. " I sat there on the couch in shock. I was looking around if his little brother or his parents were here. Sure enough, his brother was. Oliver. Oliver said " Ooooooh . Lady, my brother has a crush on you! " He made this weird kissing sound. It made me want to puke. "Um..can he leave? I am just not comfortable with him here when we are talking about of all things, this." I say. Brandon nods his head. "Get out of here! I'm trying to talk to my .....um....." Silence. His what? He means me! What am I to him! " my very good friend. " I gaze into his eyes happily . Before he leaves, Oliver says to Brandon "You have a crush..." Brandon just hugs me out of the blue. I hug him tight. I feel like this is where I belong. I stand up to leave but before I go be says " Um... Nikki? Like I asked earlier... Do you feel the same? " Oh gosh. I know the answer: yes! But I don't feel right telling him in person. I got an idea. "I will text you when I get home." He smiles at me and gazes into my eyes. Then I think Zoey and Chloe never came! I will just tell them I didn't go after all.  Then, all of a sudden Mackenzie comes behind me and pushes me so I fell onto Brandon. Mackenzie ran away before I saw her but Brandon saw her. Brandon said " No need to say sorry. I already accepted it even though you never said sorry. And, after all it wasn't even your fault. Dang, Mackenzie. " We said bye and I left. I couldn't wait to see him at church on Sunday.
