"Okay, okay, okay. You're having what?"

"Housewarming party, idiot."

"A what?"

Sasuke Uchiha rubbed his temples in annoyance as he closed his eyes, processing thoughts of the past, especially how incredibly stupid his best friend, Naruto Uzumaki was.

How could a company vice president not know what a housewarming party was? It was one of the necessary terms in adult life. Sighing, the black-haired man leaned against his arm and took a swig of his beer. The two men were sitting side by side on the grass, drinking their cans of alcohol and soda, while staring at the night sky. It was something they did often, dating back to when they were just kids.

"A housewarming party. You know, when someone gets a new home, they invite their family and friends to the new place, hosting the first party in the new house?" He exasperatedly said after a few moments.

Naruto broke in a cold sweat. That's what it was called?

"O-Oh, I definitely know what that is! I mean, I am the vice pre-," The blonde was cut of by a smirking Uchiha, who rose an eyebrow at his words.

"Of a well-established company. Tell me, Naruto, what does established mean?" Naruto glared and socked the man in the chest, who doubled over in laughter.

"It means something respected because it has been there for a long time. I'm not an idiot, teme."

"I'd like you to reexamine the last five words you said, dobe."

"SASUKE!"

Sasuke just snickered, and raised his beer can to the moon that shined above, and gave a small smile. Naruto drank his orange juice and looked at him slightly. He knew that his best friend would say the words he needed to soon.

"I want you to come. You've been my closest friend for over two decades. More than that. I want you to be at the place where I bought with my own money, and with me when I propose to the most wonderful person I have ever gotten to know. I want my best friend to be with me at the important events of my life." Sasuke mumbled, and gave a look to a smiling Naruto, wiped his moist eyes slightly.

"I'm glad to know that. I...I'll come. I'll come." Naruto whispered into the quiet atmosphere, and Sasuke gave a short smile.

"That's the fewest words I had ever heard you say."

"That's the most words I ever heard you say."

The men looked at each other, then burst out in fits of laughter. Together, they clinked their cans and signified a toast to their friendship, as well as the next chapter of their lives.

I came back ten minutes ago, in time to hear this part of the story. Himawari fussed over my wet head and shirt, but I didn't care.

I just felt so... so hollow inside.

I just want to hear the next part. I just want to hear what happens next.

Maybe that'll fill up the void inside me.

"Few days passed, and then..."

The housewarming party of Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno came, and Naruto straightened out his light blue button-up shirt and breathed slowly as he knocked on the door of the beautiful two-story home. A black pant, belt and chino shoes was what he wore with the blue shirt, and a dark blue blazer.

Looking at the bouquet of white lilies, he restrained the urge to cry. White lilies.

They were her favorite.
