Chapter 2 - Darkness

After everyone was out of the bar, going home, Adam decided to stay behind to help John cleaning up the place. Adam had a ton of tolerance regarding alcohol, so he was still sober, a little happy but still sober like.

"Adam, you didn't have to stay helping me clean. You're my guest and not my employee anymore." - John said, a little tipsy.

"John, please let me help you. It's the least that I can do after everything you did today. I missed you so much, old man. When are you thinking of retiring?" - Adam was worried that John couldn't keep up, like when he started working with him. John looked tired, sad and most importantly sick. Adam never saw him like that.

"I'm okay, Adam. Do you think that I'm going to retire just because? Nah...  I know I'm not at my best but I still need to keep this place open. You know that I don't have any family members to keep this going, so, until I live, I'll keep working." - John smiled but Adam knew that that smile was fake. But he couldn't do anything about it besides helping.

"Well, if you say so... I'll believe in you." - says, smirking. 

After a while, Adam receives a call. It was his manager, Sarah. He picks up the phone.

"Hey, what's up?" - Adam greets her.

"Adam, where are you? Why are you at the mall without any security? Didn't I just tell you that you can't do this? How many time..."

"Wait, wait, wait... at the mall?"- Adam interrupts Sarah.

What was she talking about?

"Sarah, I'm still at John's bar. What are you talking about?" - Adam was confused.

"What I just saw pictures of you at the mall early this evening. You bought a new outfit at 'Pools and bears'. " - Sarah seems confused herself. 

"That's impossible. I came straight here after my home stop. I told you that I know the area well and that I didn't need any bodyguard as I was with my friends." 

John placed his hand on Adam's shoulder, whispering "Put on speaker, let me talk with her." 

Adam puts the call on speaker as soon as she starts venting about this subject John politely intervened.

"Darling, it's me John, the owner of 'John's place' bar. Is there anything that I can do to help you? I was listening to what Adam was saying and that's correct Adam came straight from his place to here. Even Debbie, one of his best friends told me that Adam was at his apartment since he came from his tour until she came here around 10:00 pm."

"Adam, I don't know what is happening. I going to send you the videos people are tagging you with and the photos that fans have from yesterday night."

"Please do. I'll be waiting to see what's happening. Probably someone impersonating me. We will find what is happening, no worries. I need to go now. Talk to you tomorrow. Bye"

"Ok, bye!" - the call finishes.

After a few seconds, Adam receives a tone of photos and videos from Sarah. All of them showing that he was actually there. Or what seems to be him. The guy was wearing the same outfit that Adam used to wear when trying to go by himself to the mall. Everything looks like it was him but Adam knew it wasn't. What the fuck was going on?

"Hey, did you saw someone similar to me recently?" - Adam asked John that silently 

"No, I actually never thought that was possible in the first place. Can you show me the pictures?"

Adam gives the phone to John. A few seconds later John cheers without reason, speaking fast, making it impossible to understand.

"Woah, slow down, old dude. What did you find out?" - Adam was caught out of guard with the uncommon.
