4 months later...

"So, are we finding out the sex of the baby?" the ultrasound tech asked as he moved the sensor over Lily's growing bump. Elliot held her hand as he did with every appointment in the last couple of months. The first time he saw the heartbeat he nearly lost it. His heart had swelled when the flicker appeared on the screen. And every appointment with an ultrasound he held his breath until he saw the heart beating strong. He was sure Lily was also worried every time as well.

"Hell Yea! Boy or girl!!?" Elliot cheered. He had already started fixing up the nursery in their new apartment and was eager to get paint. Lily had more or less been sick until the last two weeks. Morning sickness lasted almost all day. But she powered through, continuing to work as much as she could.

The tech moved the wand around her abdomen, they were able to see the growing little baby. Elliot laced his fingers with hers, the anticipation was killing him. They watched as the baby moved its little legs and arms. "And if we move this way...we should be able to tell the gender today..." the technician moved over the left side of her belly to view the underside of the baby. "It looks like..." he moved more, "A girl!" he smiled happily snapping another photo to show the gender. Elliot had his phone out in his other hand, live feed on Facebook. Tons of messages flooded in immediately from all their friends and family watching.

"I guess Zane won the pick! We are having a girl!" Elliot flipped the phone over to his face that was beaming brightly at everyone watching. He couldn't be happier. Ending the live stream Elliot put his phone away and kissed Lily's head, he was ecstatic. Lily smiled as she saw the ultrasound, tears filling her eyes. Their little baby was growing strong and fast. She didn't feel any kicking yet, but she felt flutters when she moved around. She felt like the luckiest girl in the world right now.
