Primrose Hollis moved slowly toward the whistling train. She was nervous, her hands shaking and lips trembling. Her parents had somewhere to be right at eleven so they wouldn't be there to see her off for her first year at Hogwarts.

She told them this morning she didn't mind, that it would be better without them. She made some excuse about it being less embarrassing that way.

Obviously she didn't mean what she said.

Someone helped her with her trunk and Primrose was now boarding the large black and faded red train. Her eyes were set nervously on the hallway in front of her and she searched quietly for an empty compartment to hide in for the ride.

However, since she arrived much later because of her hesitance to run through a brick wall, it seemed they were all taken.

She debated about finding a bathroom to hide in but decided if someone found her it could lead to an unfortunate situation in which she became known as 'Potty Girl' for the rest of her Hogwarts career.

Primrose sighed, glancing around hoping to find even a compartment with just one person. The train car she was in, however, only seemed to have three people or more.

Except, near the end of train car, Primrose caught sight of a sleeping girl and a dark haired boy boy staring out the window. If Primrose didn't wake the girl up when she entered the compartment then it would be like there was really only one person with her.

Of coarse, it was boy and she didn't have much interaction with boys but if she was going to use that excuses the only people she really interacted with were her parents and older sister.

They didn't have any neighbors and were too far from town to attend muggle school without it damaging their parents careers so tutors and nannies were hired to care for and school the sisters.

Primrose didn't really mind it, she knew her parents had difficult jobs at the ministry. Her father, Ronan, worked as head of the Magical Law Enforcement Department, but he also went on missions with younger aurors to ensure their safety and success.

Meanwhile, Diane, Primrose's mother, was working directly with the minister, Eugenia Jenkins. Diane was the adviser. Primrose wasn't quite sure what her mother's job entailed, but she did know the job meant she'd be home very infrequently.

While Primrose knew her parents had reasons to be busy, Felicity—her sister— didn't see it that way. She believed that they purposely ignored their daughters and eventually, grew to resent them. It got so far that when Felicity turned 11 and got an invite from their aunt and uncle to live with them in France, she jumped at the offer.

Primrose knew her parents had reasons to be busy, but it still hurt. She was home alone most of the time, for awhile it was her and her older sister, Felicity, but then Felicity was accepted in Beaxbatons and lives there instead. She even stays with their Aunt and Uncle in France instead of coming home during the summers and holidays.

Primrose sighed, clearing her thoughts as she opened the door and smiled shyly at the boy sitting by the window. He looked at her, his expression unreadable.

"Hi, umm, can i sit in here?"

The boy nodded slowly, "Sure, I'm Sirius."

Primrose gave him a confused look, "I am too?"

Snorting, the boy shook his head, "No, my name is Sirius. Sirius Black."

"Oh!" Primrose said, feeling a little stupid. She blushed, "I'm Primrose Hollis, but you can just call me Prim."

Sirius grinned widely, "Pleasure to meet you, Prim. That girl over there is my sister, Caesar."

Sitting down across from Sirius, Primrose glanced at the sleeping girl. She had long dark hair, the same color as Sirius's and rosy cheeks.

"Is she very tired? The train hasn't even left yet!"

Nodding, Sirius explained how they lived far away from the station and their mother woke them up extra early so they wouldn't be late for their first year.

Sirius jumped as the train started moving and Primrose laughed loudly at his expression, Caesar shot up, and the compartment erupted into chaos.

Primrose was laughing, Sirius was screaming and Caesar asked if she was in hell yet. Soon enough everyone got quiet and Primrose shot Caesar a friendly smile, "I'm Primrose."

The train ride was going by quickly now, Primrose was pleased to find out that both Caesar and Sirius were very friendly. She hadn't even arrived at school yet and had already made two new friends.

The social aspect of Hogwarts was a big worry of Primrose's, she hadn't had chance to meet many new people besides her different nannies and tutors so she had decided that nobody would like her. Yet here she was, being friendly and people were being nice back! The saying treat people how you want to be treated really was true.

They three of them were just talking about random things now but when Sirius stole Caesar's chocolate frog it all went down hill.

As siblings, it was natural to argue, Primrose was sure of this, but this wasn't arguing. It was a battle, of wits and wills and Primrose didn't know who would come out alive.

Sirius was yelling about wombs and Caesar looked ready to stab him. Primrose prayed to Merlin that they're we're no sharp objects nearby.

Suddenly the siblings turned to stare at Primrose and simultaneously they said, "Who do you think is right?"

Primrose shifted nervously, "Oh, um, I don't know... it was Caesar's chocolate frog, right?"

Caesar grinned triumphantly, but Sirius interjected, "I paid for it!"

Not wanting them to start arguing again, Primrose spoke quickly, ignoring the voice in her head telling her not to voice her thoughts, "Well yeah, but you did give it to her."

Sirius narrowed his eyes, as Primrose kept talking, "You could've just asked for it back."

Wrapping an arm around Primrose, Caesar smiled widely, "I like you."

Sirius did not to seem to agree. In fact he went to speak, looking annoyed when a tall disheveled boy barreled into their compartment.

He grinned at everybody, "Mind lying for me? I just threw some dungbombs in a prefects compartment and I think they saw me but if you three'd be willing to say I was here for the whole time, I think I can get away with it."

Primrose and Caesar shrugged, and Sirius' mood changed instantly, clapping the boy on the shoulder and grinning. "It'd be our pleasure mate. I'm Sirius by the way."

"James."

And thus, was the birth of a beautiful friendship between the four of them.

Or rather, two friendships.

You see, James Potter(as his name turned out to be) was a very loud person and Primrose found she didn't like him all that much.

But Sirius and him got along like brothers. They galavanted around the school, with two other boys as well and always managed to stir up trouble in the wrong places.

They were sorted into Gryffindor(Caesar didn't seem surprised), while Primrose and Caesar found themselves in Ravenclaw, entering the common room by answering a riddle instead of something simple like the other houses(apparently they just had to remember the password!).

Anyways, Caesar and Sirius naturally argued a lot and more often than not, Primrose found herself being dragged into the middle of it. Soon enough, however, Primrose ended up fighting with Sirius without the help of Caesar and a rivalry was born.

When seated next to each other in class Primrose, had begged teachers to give her a new partner(worked sometimes, other times she'd have to suffer it out). As if she didn't struggle in school enough, he was another distraction on the list.

Always stealing her quill, or ink! Or in potions, Merlin he was the WORST as a potions partner. He was always trying to steal a bit of the potion, or drink it, or something equally as stupid. Then when Slughorn caught him, Primrose would be dragged into punishment as well! It was bloody unfair.

It's like Sirius' goal in life is to make Primrose miserable.
