Months have past and I was now staring in horror at the sight of my father shoving my mother to the ground but I did nothing but brace myself. I felt his hit on my cheek and it stung, I glared up at him. "KEEP ON! I DON'T CARE!" I screamed, doing nothing to defend myself as he continued throwing punches. Finally he stopped after throwing me into the wall, "GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE! IF I EVER CATCH YOU AGAIN I'LL PUT A BULLET THROUGH YOUR SKULL!" He screamed. I rolled my eyes and whipped the blood from a cut under my eye and limped out the front door.
I sat at the creek for a while, holding back tears as I whipped blood from my now bleeding nose, I rolled up my hoodie sleeves to look at the cuts and bruises. I felt my blood boiling with anger and hate, I struggled to control myself to the point I started shaking. I could sense someone was coming but I couldn't hold it anymore.
I ran back to my house and bursted through the door, I saw my dad glare at me. "I said leave!" I felt a hand grab my wrist and try and pull me outside, I turned to see Colten urging me to get out of the house. I pulled away from him and walked in and up to my dad. "You can kick and hit me all you want! But you are gonna be the one to loose." I growled. I saw him reach for his gun holster and I didn't move when he pulled out a small pistol. "DO IT! SHOOT ME I DARE YOU! MY LIFE IS WORTH NOTHING ANYWAY!" I screamed as loud as I could, I saw him cock it and I jumped to grab it. I yanked it from him and threw it behind me. "You don't scare me! I never wanted to be a part of this family anyway! Your all psychopathic alcohol druggies! You want me gone I'm gone!" I said in a low voice. I walked outside to see Colten, and slammed the door shut behind me. "Let's go." I snapped. He stared at me for a moment before following me to the Quarry.
We sat on the edge of the rise. "I texted Dusty, Ty, and Xavier." He said. I heaved a heavy sigh, "I'm screwed..." I murmured. Colten looked at me pitifully. "What happened..? I saw a gun slide across the floor and that's it... did your dad pull a gun on you?" I nodded silently. I rolled up my sleeves and showed him the cuts and bruises and his gaze turned pale. "I can't go back... he'll really kill me." I lifted my head at the sound of bikes and I fixed my sleeves and jumped up, like nothing ever happened. They all surrounded me, asking what happed and if I was okay. I told them I was fine but Colten glared at me and I lowered my head shamefully. I rolled up my sleeves and they all flinched. "Dad pulled a gun on me, if he sees me again, he said he'd kill me." They stared at me. They all hugged me and I just rolled my eyes, "I'm fine. Everything's fine. It's aboutta be spring in a few days." I said, fixing my sleeves again. Xavier grabed my hand. "We're going to my house. If y'all wanna come then come. My parents are gone for two days." He said, pulling me with him. I pulled away from him. "I ain't goin' with you!" I snapped he turned around, "Yes you are!" He yelled. I glared up at him, hate coursing threw my veins. 'I knew I never truly liked you' I shoved him. "I don't need you! I don't need your pity and understanding! I should have never trusted you! For all I know your just like him!" I screamed. I felt his skin brush mine as he reached for my hand but I pulled away and climbed up the rise. "I don't need anyone! I'm on my own!" I shouted and turned to the field and ran.
I ran and ran and ran until my legs gave out and I collapsed on the forrest floor. I leaned against a tree and cried until it was dark out and fell asleep.

(COLTEN'S POV)
I stared in shock as Blue ran away and into the woods. "Screw it! She can die for all I care!" snapped Xavier, leaving me, Ty, and Dusty in the Quarry. "She's crazy! She's gonna die!" Exclaimed Dusty. "What do we do? Go after her? Call the police?" Asked Ty. I shook my head, thinking of things she has told me in the past. "No. We do nothing. If we call the police she will go to a foster home and we will never see her again. We can't go after her. All we can do is hope." I said mournfully, "She's smart and brave. She'll be fine and chances are she'll stay close." We calmed down and went home.

Dear journal. 6/30/19
It's been about 3 months now since Blue's escape. We have not heard from Xavier in a while. Tomorrow is the first of July and I'm hoping she return's, looking for Jackson. Xavier is handling it fine but has been talking behind her back at school, spreading rumors and such. I keep seeing a black wolf in dreams and I've herd Blue talk about a made up wolf character that was black. When I see the wolf he is happy and thriving. I hope he and her are connected. I'm gonna be waiting for her at the Quarry... hoping... she come's back.

(BLUE'S POV)
I dragged myself in a random direction, hoping to get home. I was starving and could feel my guts eating themselves. I climbed a rock pile, overlooking the Quarry. To my dismay I saw Colten sitting there, sad as can be. He spotted me a moment later and I ran down to him and we hugged. Both our eyes filled with tears. "Thank god your okay! I thought I lost you! I thought you were dead!" He said, hugging me tightly. I felt my heart skip a beat and we both collapsed and I cried into his shoulder. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm never leaving again. I love you guy's and I'm never ever leaving ever again." We pulled away from each other and walked towards the creek. "Blue, your dad is in prison," I perked up at the new's "He was caught abusing your mom and was thrown in jail. He plead not guilty but the bruises say otherwise. Your safe." I hugged him again. "If it wasn't for The Forth Of July, I wouldn't have came back," I said, walking over to the willow tree, starting to climb, "I ain't leaving this tree till it's over." I said, feeling the emotion come but ignoring it. He looked up at me confusingly, his brown eyes turned pale and he sighed, walking away.
I sat in that tree, thoughts running through my head when I heard a rock hit the water of the creek and I was suddenly alert of my surroundings. It was Xavier. He glared at me, his eyes glinting in the setting sunlight. "Whore. I'm surprised you aren't dead. How bout you drag your ass back into the woods and rot?" He growled. I sat up straighter and narrowed my eyes. "Your one to talk. Colten told me everything. I suggest you leave. I been here longer, this is my spot now get out!" My shouts echoed off the sides of the creek. He glared at me for a moment more before leaving. 'I should have never trusted him. I should have known better.' I stared at the darkening skies for ever until finally falling asleep.
