You sat in the passenger seat with Lady in your lap. She stuck her head out the window wagging her tail and barking. She was the cutest cocker spaniel ever, with her bright red ears and a tan body, she always looked at you with her big brown eyes.
You smiled admiring her as you felt Niall’s warm hand massaging your neck.
You: Hey baby girl. I wuv you!
Lady licked your nose. You laughed as Niall smiled staring at the road. You leaned on him. He looked down at you smiling.
Niall: What?
You: I love you.
Niall wrapped his free arm around you: I love you too baby.
You scooted closer to him, Lady calmly sat in your lap. Your head shot up.
You: Niall! We need to get her a license and a collar!
Niall: Okay, there is a pet store on the way home we can stop by.
You nodded as Lady moved around your lap making herself comfortable. She yawned as her eyes drooped. You tapped Niall’s shoulder and he laughed quietly. You looked at Lady and Niall as he held your hand loosely. You took a quick look at Niall and looked out the window.
You: Niall.... Are you happy...?
Niall let go of your hand and looked directly down the road, you situated yourself staring right at Niall.
You: Niall..... Are you happy...?
You saw a tear fall from his eye. He didn't answer you.... What was up with him. The rest of the car ride to the pet store was silent. When Niall pulled up he shut off the car and handed you his debit card.
Niall: Go get what she needs.
You kissed Lady and went inside, you grabbed a cart and got the things she needed.
What was going on with Niall...? He was fine up until you asked him that question. Was he not happy...? Tears rolled down your face at the thought of Niall not loving you or none the less being happy.
As you were checking out of the store you looked outside Niall was on his phone as Lady sat in his lap. He was smiling.... What was he up to?
You took the grocery cart out to the car and tapped on the back of Niall’s Porsche. He popped the trunk as you loaded the car. You opened the passenger door as Niall started the car. You took Lady out of his lap. His smiled had disappeared. You sat in silence once again on the way home.
As you guys both pulled up into your driveway Niall got out of the car quickly and grabbed all the bags you walked Lady into the house, she ran around barking and panting. She was such a joyful dog. You turned to talk to Niall to ask what was going on but he was already halfway up to the bedroom.
You pet Lady, as you got her food Niall was taking a shower you could hear the water running. You set down her dog bowl and sat next to her as she ate.
You: What do I do?
Lady looked up at you and wagged her tail.
You smiled: I love him with all my heart Lady, I really do.
You jumped up and licked you. You hugged her tightly walking up the stairs. You sat down newspaper for her in case she peed. She jumped up on the bed and snuggled down as you got dressed. You jumped into bed and wrapped your arms around Lady.
You heard the water stop and Niall get out of the shower. You pretended to be asleep as he came out and got dressed in his boxers. He crawled into bed and kissed you on your head. He must have thought you were asleep because he started talking.
