I could feel so much pain before i even opened my eyes. My side hurt, my face hurt. I heard groaning, whining. I finally opened my eyes, and tried to move, instantly regretting it. I screamed out in pain as I tried to get up and a burning pain in my side rushed over. "F-fuck.." I whimpered. My vision was blurred, but what I saw wasn't anything good. We were in a forest. Probably miles from the tracks. We really did go off the rails. The train was broken and boxcars were all over the place, some ejected farther than others. I didn't see many bodies, maybe they had already woken up and were trying to escape.
Unable to get very far, I leaned against the box car. I whimpered softly, looking around in a sort of daze. "C-Colby..." I said softly as I tried to look around for him. One box car was completely flipped and caught fire. Luckily, nobody was in it. At least, I didn't see anyone. I instantly felt very uneasy. We were in a forest. THE forest. Aokigahara. Pretty much in the middle. It was a violent crash that left us stranded in a forest, called the suicide forest where millions have gone to die. I had to find Colby. I had to find Mikey. I had to find someone and get the hell out of there. But how? I had no idea how to get out of there. I had no map, no sense of navigation. I took a deep breath. I needed to find my backpacks. I had important things that could help me escape. I had a knife, a map, a compass, food, and water.
"Dylan!" I heard someone yell. Then I looked up and there was Colby, Mikey, and a girl named Katelyn. "Oh my god." I said, relieved to see them. Colby ran over and hugged me. "Thank god you're okay..." he whispered. "I could say the same thing." I said, voice shaky. He looked at me. He had a cut on his cheek, and it was bleeding. "Aw Colby." I said and used my sleeve to wipe it off. He looked back at me, "Your lips busted." He frowned. I wiped it, "I'm okay. C-can you help me up?" I asked. He nodded, and slowly and carefully helped me to my feet. My side burned but I got through it.
"So Mikey... Is this it?" I asked. He looked around in terror, nodding slowly. "Yeah.. This is Aokigahara." I exhaled slowly. Colby ran his fingers through his hair, "Fuck.." he said. "We need to find our supplies." he added. "Colbys right.. Look around for our stuff then we'll figure all this out." Mikey said. Everyone nodded.
Colby and I searched the boxcar we were all in. We searched in and around it. I managed to find both my bags. Colby found one of his, but it had everything he absolutely needed. Mikey found his things and Katelyn found her one duffle. "Okay, we all got everything?" Mikey asked. We all replied, "Yeah."We all looked around in terror. All we could smell was fire, hot metal, and a variety of unknown smells. It wasn't very light outside, and being surrounded but trees and stuff didn't help. It was sort of dark already. "This is serious. We need to look for signs, or colored tape or something to find our way to a path." Mikey said, panic in his voice. "O-oh god." Katelyn said. We turned, we saw several bodies of our classmates, dead.
I felt sick to my stomach, and instantly threw up. "Jesus..." Colby covered his mouth. "No.. no.." Mikey said, looking around, hands on his head. "What do we do? Theres no cell service. Theres nothing we can do... they're all dead... fuck.." Katelyn said, pacing. "We can try to leave a note or message. Guides or rangers will come in and find us eventually. I'm sure police will be notified as soon as someone discovers the trains off the grid and they'll track the location." Mikey suggested. "Fuck.. Chris.. Dan.. Samantha.. This is awful.. Goddamnnit!" He yelled.
Colby turned away, "Anyone got a pen and paper or a marker or something?" He asked. I nodded, "Yeah. I have a sharpie. Write on the boxcar." I said and dug through my bag until I found the marker. I gave it to Colby. He wrote on the boxcar door, "Mr.Morris' junior class: Trip to Mount Fuji gone wrong." He wrote first, then listed the names of all people we found and confirmed they were dead, starting with "Rest in Peace....."
