I woke up in a hospital with an IV in, and some bandaids and bandages on my cuts and scrapes. Mikey was in the hospital room with me, he was still asleep though. His family was in the room though, in the other side of the curtain, waiting for him to wake up. My vision cleared up quickly, and I could see my sister, mom, and her husband.

"Oh Colby!" My mom cried, "You're finally up." I looked up at her, "Mom..." I said weakly. I started to sit up, but fell back, as I was in a tremendous amount of pain. "Oh sweetheart, no. It's okay. Lay down." She said, sitting on the edge of the bed to make it easier to hug her. My older sister, Abby, sat on the other side, tears in her eyes. "Colbs, I'm so glad you're okay.. I thought you were gone for good." she said. "I did, too..." I said, chucking slightly, as a tear escaped me cheek. She hugged me, and I hugged her so tightly. "Okay nice reunion. Can we wrap it up? I made reservations for 3 at Donald's." Moms husband, Daniel said. I rolled my eyes. "Danny!" Mom cried. "What? He's fine, I told you!" He said. "I'm staying with Colby." Abby said. "Fine. Your mother and I will have alone time then. It all works. Let's go Nikki." He said. "I'll be back later, Son.." Mom said as she hesitantly followed Daniel.

"Ugh. Why is she still with that asshole?" I growled. "He doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself." Abby exhaled, shaking her head. "I wish I knew, Colby. I really do. She deserves better than Daniel but she won't leave."

After a while, I had been interrogated by at least 3 cops or detectives or whatever they were. They asked my a million questions about the same thing. I answered the same 3 questions several times. They were actually sort of rude and insensitive to the situation. It really bothered me. We had endured days of tragedy, fear, and hell, and we were being treated like we were in the wrong.

Mike woke up and was questioned too. He had a lot of the same answers, obviously. Him and I talked a bit, then I started falling asleep again. I tried to fight it, I tried to stay awake. I wanted to know if Dylan was okay. I needed to know.

"Abby, can you try to get my wheelchair? I want to go visit Dylan. She's down the hall." I said. Abby smiled small, "No problem little brother." She said, walking out into the hallway. I took a deep breath, closing my eyes.

  We got lucky. Real lucky.

A few moments later, Abby came back with the wheelchair. She carefully helped me out of my bed, and into the chair. She grabbed the IV monitor, and pulled it with me as I wheeled down the hall, and eventually into Dylan's room. She was asleep. I waited for her to wake up, while Abby ran to the café to get food for myself and her.
"Dylan.." I said softly, seeing her eyelids fluttering a little. She opened her eyes slowly, "Col-Colby?" She asked, sitting up. She climbed to the edge of her bed, hugging me tightly as I gently kissed the top of her head, "Hi..." She said. I rubbed her back, "We made it..We really made it." I said. She nodded, not saying much.

We'd all be able to go home soon, most likely in the next day or so. I couldn't wait. But I also feared how everything that had happened would mess with all of us, and effect the rest of our lives. Our lives had changed forever. With everything we saw and experienced, we'd never be exactly the same again.
