One more vampire.... Max? No. There is no way he's the head. "Sam? Michael?"

Lucy was here. Oh no. "I'll handle mom, come on." Edgar pulled me in by my waist and kept me beside him. "Come on. It's okay."

All of us tried to get Sam's mom to believe us and not worry about anything. I noticed Max look around, especially at one of the impaled vampires on the floor.

"I still have a weird feeling, Edgar." I whispered in his ear, while pointing slightly to Max. "Me too, baby."

Lucy walked away. "I don't want to hear another word from you until I talk to Michael!" Sam motioned for us to follow her.

"I'm sorry Lucy," I heard Max's voice and my eyes widened, "this is all my fault. David and my boys misbehaved. I told you, the boys need a mother."

We slowly walked to Max and Lucy, Edgar still holding me by the waist quite protectively. "Max, what are you talking about?"

Aha! Max cheated! Somehow.... I'm not sure how.

"You're the head vampire, Max, I knew it!" I shouted, only to be scowled at by Edgar. "Sidney, now you're in on this childish theory?!" Lucy scolded me. "It's more than a theory Mrs. Emerson, it's the truth!" I spat at Max. Edgar held me back.

Star came out of the shadows. "You were the secret David was protecting." Max hummed in response.

"Who's this?" Lucy asked, referring to Star. "But you passed the test!" I said to Max. "Don't ever invite a vampire into your house, you naive little girl. It renders you powerless!"

There was another rule! Everything I thought was right! "Did you know that?" Sam asked Edgar. "Of course! Everyone knows that.."

"Has everyone gone crazy around here, what's the matter with all of you?!" Lucy asked. Just as I was thinking, lady!

"It was you I was after all along, Lucy. I knew that if I could get Sam and Michael into the family.."

"Where's Michael?"

"It was going to be so perfect, Lucy. Just like one big happy family. Your boys, and your little Sidney, and my boys."

Of course, Edgar had to make a joke. "Great! The bloodsucking Brady Bunch!"

Max turned back around to show his vamped out face. "I still want you, Lucy! I haven't changed my mind about that!"

His fangs unsettled me. It was all coming back to me, how much I hated vampires. They turned Michael into a monster and almost killed me.

"I didn't invite you this time, Max!" Michael stepped up. His vampire form was as ugly as Max's. He tried to get Max, but was flung into the air.

At that moment, I lost every bit of good sense I had. All the emotions of these couple of days came out in a yell when I grabbed a stake from Edgar and charged at Max with full speed, only to be pushed with vampire strength.

I let out a small shout as I hit the wall and fell onto the stairs. Edgar couldn't get to help me because he was on the floor too.

With all my strength, I pushed myself up and climbed the steps, reaching Sam's bedroom. Sobs racked my body as I felt my back.

"Shut it, Sidney, nothing's broken!" I yelled to myself, still crying. Suddenly, I heard Sam's grandpa's horn. Something bust through the wall, Max screamed and some part of the house collapsed!

There was a huge calamity downstairs. Once it died down, I saw Edgar coming up the stairs. Out of nowhere, I felt the strength to get up.

"Edgar! You're okay!" He met me in the bedroom with a huge hug. "Sidney, oh my god, are you okay? Did Max break anything? You look like he did, I don't want you to be hurt, you could-"

I cut off his rambling by smashing my lips on his. "I'm fine. I promise you that." He smiled and hugged me again.

"You don't hate me for charging at Max like that?"

"No, you're alive, that's all I care about." Too sentimental for a mean vampire hunter!

"And you were right! There was an extra thing we didn't know. And you thought of that. Sidney, you're so smart!" Edgar pecked me on the lips a few times before putting his forehead on mine.

"I love you, Sidney. I love you so much." His head buried into my neck as I continued to hug him. "I love you too, Edgar. I always will. Trust me."

Edgar kissed me one last time before we went downstairs. Michael looked normal. Edgar and I went up to him.

"Mike! You're okay!" He smiled at me. "Yes I am, thank you Sidney. You too." Michael pointed at Edgar. He nodded.

"Have a good night Michael. You too, Sammy."

Me and Edgar walked out of the Emerson house hand in hand. "What an interesting couple days this has been. Right Eddie?"

He chuckled at me. "You have no idea, Sid."

I stepped on my porch and unlocked the front door. My mom wasn't home yet. Edgar followed me to my bedroom.

"Is it okay if I get dressed into something with less vampire blood on it?" Edgar smirked. "Yeah." To his displeasure, I went into my bathroom.

"Hey, don't leave me hanging like that!" Edgar yelled through the door. "I won't, watch me." I bit my lip. "What's that supposed to mean, beautiful?"

"What do you think?" I purred, loud enough for him to hear. "I think you should hurry up!" I rolled my eyes.

What I changed into was shorts and a tank top. Nothing too complicated. When I opened the bathroom door, Edgar fell because he was leaning against the door. How he fell was the best part.

We acted as dominoes, once he fell forward onto me, I fell too. He was on top of me. "I think we should stay like this, Sidney."

His intense brown eyes cut into mine. "The floor is uncomfortable. The bed is a lot more soft." Edgar picked me up and dropped me on the bed.

"You're absolutely sure, right?" He got serious. "Of course. I love you." Edgar, being very timid, climbed on top of me.

"I love you too, Sidney."
♡ ♡ .....
Once I caught my breath I turned to Edgar. "Told you I wouldn't leave you hanging." He just chuckled and kissed my forehead.

"Tell me something about you, Sidney. Something I don't know." I thought for a second. "I don't know my dad. I never did. Me and my mom came here for a change of scenery."

"I'm glad you moved here. I finally have someone who is beautiful and believes Santa Carla has a deeper problem than a lot of missing people." I giggled. "I'll hunt nightcrawlers for the rest of my life just to be with you, Eddie."

"I want that. I really do."

"Then I'm sold, Edgar. Consider me your full-time vampire hunting partner."
