It took a while to get to our new house. The exquisite home was situated in what was comparable to pretty much nowhere.

My mom and I got out of the car and took a quick look around the area.

"Honey look, there are our neighbors! Looks like they just moved in too!" The neighbors house was huge with a wide array of decorations outside of it.

"Those two boys are coming over, make friends with them!"

"But-" before I could protest to my mom, she ran off into the house. The two said boys were slowly making their way over to me. I acted like I was getting boxes out of the trunk.

"Ma'am, are you also just moving in?" I looked up from the trunk and saw a boy about my age with blond hair and another boy, who I'm guessing is his brother, with curly brown hair.

"Yeah I am. With my mom. She's in the house." The brothers smiled. "So, where are you and your mom from?" The blond haired boy said. "Dayton, Ohio," I replied, "and you?"

"Phoenix." The brown haired boy finally spoke. "Cool, I've been there before on vacation," the blond continued to smile at me. "I'm Sidney, by the way. Sidney Roberts."

I held out my hand for the blond boy to shake. "Sam Emerson." We shook hands. The other boy didn't accept my hand. "Mike, can you be nice for once and shake Sidney's hand?"

'Mike' rolled his eyes and shook my hand while smiling. "Michael Emerson. Sadly, I have to be his brother." I chuckled and put my hand by my side.

"I just have a weird feeling about this place though. Did you see the back of the Santa Carla billboard?" Michael and Sam looked at each other. "The murder capital of the world. Grandpa thinks it's true."

That's just great. "My god. I thought Dayton's crime rate was bad." I shook my head and my mom came out of the house. "Sidney! Who are your friends?"

"Michael and Sam Emerson." They waved to her. "Me and Sid just got here. It looks like you did too." They nodded. "Ew, mom, don't call me that."

My mom made small talk with them while I stood there bored. Once their long conversation ended, we both went to our own houses and unpacked.

In my own room, I unpacked my posters and put them on my wall. Next, I placed my clothes in the spacious closet.

When I finished reorganizing the big room it was already dark outside. I flopped down on my bed, clearing my thoughts.

That was until my mom yelled my name. "Sidney! Sam and Michael are here!" I rushed downstairs and sure enough, Sam, Michael, and their mom were at the door.

"Oh, and their mother, Lucy. I told her all about you!" Lucy shook my hand with a big smile on her face. "Nice to meet you, Mrs. Emerson." I returned the smile.

"Please, call me Lucy. Nice to meet you too! Me and the boys were just about to go to the boardwalk and we were wondering if you wanted to go with us. Maybe your mom too!"

"Can we, mom?" I looked at her, then at Sam with a smile. "Yes, of course! I need to look for a job anyway."

After that, we all got ready to go down to the Santa Carla boardwalk.
