"Hello, my name is Sabrina, I am seventeen years old and I live in-"
"Bri! Honey, why are you talking to yourself?". I rolled my eyes at my step fathers foolish behaviour and brushed my wet blonde hair out of my eyes. Gareth was my step dad, he recently met my mother after her and my father broke up.
They get along fine, but my father had been hiding a secret. He was gay. I know. So obvious. Considering every time as kids he and my sister would be thrilled playing dress up while I watched television. Around three years ago, my mother found Gareth and it was love at first sight. Almost throwing up, I answered Gareth and searched for some bottoms to cover my half dressed body.
"I'm not Gareth, it's my channel". He chuckled lightly and knocked on my door for no reason at all. "Okay honey, just come down for breakfast".
I closed my laptop and brushed through my hair with my hands. Ignoring the clumps I picked up a pair of sleeping shorts and a tank top. The irritating clicking light of my camera was left in causing me to go into a frenzy. I jumped on the ground scraping my hands against the carpet causing a sting to appear on my skin.
Slapping open my laptop I groaned and smacked my hands down. A bar suddenly appeared on the screen filling up from white to emerald.
Oh no!
Those two words mocked me in my face and tears threatened to drop as they pooled in my eyes.
Video Uploaded.
My channel only consisted of a few of my friends at school and my best friend, Hannah. Taking in a slow and agonising breath I scrolled through the terms and conditions. My breathing picked up as I believed there wasn't a way out.
Video can only be deleted twenty four hours after upload.
I finally let the tears fall and put my head in my hands. My hair spread in all directions and my sisters voice could be heard outside. Annabelle persistently asked me if I was okay and I should come and eat.
Annabelle Liston was my little sister, with only a few years separating us, I was constantly compared to her. She was blonde, not my blonde, but perfect blonde. She had fair skin without a blemish and bright blue eyes not dull ones like mine.
Annabelle was captain of her cheerleadering squad, loved to go shopping and was extremely smart, ending up with us attending different schools.
Although we didn't go to the same school, I was always compared to her. By teachers, boys and my parents. I didn't bother with all that girly stuff, I liked it, but... Effort.
I defeatedly closed my laptop shut and pulled on a pair of sleeping shorts. The door taunted me as I thought of ways to avoid going to school.
Hearing my mother scream my name I unlocked the door and jumped out tying my shorts. I ran across the corridor, trying to slow down my speed I approached the stairs too quickly, I grabbed onto the banister sliding sideways and tripping over my left foot.
I tumbled over the first step and grunted continuously before ending at the bottom of the stairs. My body stretched as my limbs pulled, turning my neck around I felt little to no pain.
As I entered the kitchen my sister gave me a worried look and I took a deep breath. Anna was preppy, blonde, girly but she was one of the nicest people on this planet.
I took a seat at the table and my mom asked me if I was okay while Gareth held in his laughter. I glared his way and he raised a defying eyebrow. Frowning I looked around the table, how the hell did mom cook all of this? Gareth couldn't cook for toffee.
An assortment of scrambled eggs, pancakes, eggs benedict. Whatever screams breakfast, she cooked it. Annabelle was too preoccupied with her phone, and my parents were kissing and whispering weird things to each other.
After letting a last kiss, Anna looked up from her device. Her face contorted in disgust and her tongue fell out. "That's disgusting".
My parents giggled and turned her way showering her with 'cute' and 'now I'm settled she's not gonna go near any boys'.
If only they knew.
I rolled my eyes and continued eating my food. Sometimes I wondered how the dishes always came back to the kitchen empty especially after my mother cooking up a storm.
Packing up my dishes I brushed the remains into the bin and proceeded to the sink. The sound of laughter and Gareth's terrible jokes sounded in the air as they brought empty plates to the kitchen. I dropped my dish in the sink and my eyes rolled.
How the hell- "Bri, come on. Hannah said she would pick us up. Apparently it's urgent". I gasped and ran up the stairs, pulling together a pair of converse. I threw on a pair of mom jeans and tucked a graphic tee into them.I sprinted down the stairs falling off the banister. How did Anna always land that perfectly? Grabbing my purse from under the couch, I swung open the door. Hannah was waving her hands in the air. I jumped over the door landing my head right between her legs.
"Damn girl, I told you I don't swing that way".
I chuckled excessively at her statement and dragged my seatbelt across my body. She gave a me a worried look and then turned pulling her sunglasses low.
The sunlight shone directly onto my gorgeous sister as she opened the front door. Her voluminous blonde hair bounced as she skipped over to the car. My mom and Gareth stood beside each other at the door smiling at her. My mother laid her head on his bulky shoulder and waved silently.
Anna jumped in the back, managing to land and drag her seatbelt at the same time still bewildered me. Hannah started the car and went straight ahead. Our schools weren't too far away but it was long enough to turn on the radio.
Music blared from the speakers and nobody complained at all. We all danced to the music and pulled up at a traffic light. A car pulled up beside us waiting for the green light too. The boys bopped their heads and sent us dazzling smiles.
They all had the same red and black jackets, I huffed at the possibility. The green light came quickly and Hannah sped off. Coming close to Annabelle's school she jumped out of the car and walked the rest of the way.
Hannah turned the car abruptly and I held onto my seatbelt for protection.
"We need to talk about that video".
