Chapter Four: Re-Written History

When you arrived back at your apparent, a wave of exhaustion slammed into you.

The conversation with Sasuke, though light, brought you back to your past. And Naruto kept you there. You needed to think about it more. You knew that. But words always failed you. Hands pushing things to the side, your legs felt like they would give way to the weight of your body. Before they could, you let yourself fall back onto your bed. You had grabbed a pen and some paper. You propped yourself up against the bed head, and with a shaking hand began to write. Everything.

"I was about to turn seven..."

Over six years ago

"[Y/N]! Catch!"

"I got it! I got it..!"

"Let me say right now, I hadn't got it,"

The ball hit a younger [Y/N] square on the head and little you fell to the ground. Groaning, you had rubbed a hand over your head. That'd leave a bruise. A small boy, probably around your age at the time, ran up to you.

"Oh no, [Y/N] I am so sorry-"

"It's okay Zen," you laughed a little, getting up. You dusted off your skirt and smiled at the boy.

"Damn, I kinda miss that skirt. Ach, focus
[Y/N]. The boy, Zen, damn I miss him more..."

You waved his worry away. The boy was about as tall as you were. He had green hair- mint green- and dark brown skin. He also had brown eyes, but they were more like rings of gold in the sunlight. And then there was his kind smile. You had known the boy since you were young, your parents were both sound ninja who had settled in the midway village. He had a twin sister, who looked, basically, like a female version of him. Or maybe he looked like a male version of her. It was hard to tell. He also had a younger brother, who's eyes were a lot darker then his siblings. And his hair was different too. It was a paler green then the twins. A pastel kind of colour. Zen, Suisen (his sister) and Kiku (his brother).

"I'm glad your okay [Y/N], I'm really sorry I wasn't looking!" Zen's sister ran up too the two of you as he spoke. She was much more outspoken then her shyer brother.

"That girl had enough confidence for the three of us. I should've been more grateful,"

"[Y/N]! Zen you idiot!" She bonked him on the head, and you chuckled a bit. Her eyes turned back to you- or more accurately to your head. "Come on, let's get you back inside!" She grabbed your hand and pulled you after her. Zen trailed after the two of you. You could here voices as you headed nearer and nearer to the house. Your parents. You froze, and even she couldn't drag you any more.

"My parents, this was when.."

"You two are being assigned to this mission as you are the last people who would be expected," Zen's mother was saying

"Are my parents leaving..?" Sadness filled your heart. Not as much as what would come after.

"Your assignment is to kill [Y/N],"
