~Time skip: A few weeks later~

You watched silently as Naruto embarrassed himself in front of the Hokage.
You held back a laugh, Kakashi looking at you pleading for assistance. Shrugging, you turned back to the Hokage, who was in debate with Naruto. The boy had become sick of his tedious D-Rank missions. You couldn't say you didn't warn him.
"This is a drag," Grinning, you remembered Shikamaru's words about the D-Ranked missions. Pretty much all the teams had had enough of the tedious tasks. In the past few weeks, you had been on almost a hundred D-Ranked missions with the genin teams. Even you had begun to get bored of it. But you held your tongue. Naruto unfortunately didn't have that gift.
"I want a more exciting mission!" He yelled "Give us something else!"
"Naruto you fool! You're still a rookie!" Iruka leaped up from the panel, jumping out of his seat beside the Hokage, "You can't give orders to the Hokage! You work your way up the ladder by completing simple missions and gaining experience!"
"But these missions are stu-"
"Naruto," The Hokage's cleared his throat, "every day we get requests for several missions ranging from babysitting to assassinations. It is my job, and my job alone, to organise and distribute these missions. All based on how well I think they can handle them. Since you all have just become Genin, Rank D is the best you can handle," His words were reasonable- and disappointing. Naruto pouted. Sakura sighed. Even Sasuke looked disappointed. You decided to step in.
"With all due respects, great Hokage," due to the way you were raised, you never wanted to call him Lord Hokage, so he had allowed you to stick with great instead. They turned to face you, Kakashi mouthing a don't you dare. With an innocent smile, you continued mannerly.
"If this team believes they're cut out for this, there should not be any issue with regards to sending them on a C-Rank mission. If you still have doubts, I would have no problem in accompanying them. Surely having both a Jonin (and Ex-ANUB) and a chunin, along with three genin, would suit a C ranked mission. I would even report back to you with any progress updates, and will return should anything occur that cannot be handled," you looked straight at the Hokage, "This experience, either way, will be good for the genin, and for us in measuring their potential,"
The Hokage sighed, weighing your words. Before he caved in, and looked over at Naruto. A smile graced his face.
"You know what? Fine. Since you make a fair argument, I will have you do a C Rank Mission: A real bodyguard mission,"
Everyone's eyes widened, even Kakashi. Naruto made a few guesses on who they'd be protecting. The Thirds smirk however.. made you uneasy.
"I will introduce you now," he motioned towards the door, which eased open slowly. The smell of alcohol filled the room, making you gag slightly. A grimy man stood there with a scrutinising stare. His hair stuck up like he'd been electrocuted, and a beer bottle was clenched in his palm. You gulped.
"These squirts?!" The man asked in disscontempt "You! The short one! Are you even a ninja?!" It was clear he was referring to Naruto- well, to everyone but the boy. You watched the realisation hit him.. and had to grab his collar to prevent him from killing the drunkard.
