Heartbreak

My heart feels so heavy
My chest feels missing

Each word you say
Every letter you mutter
Used to be as special as life
But now it's gone like a burned out light

I wish it wasn't like this
I wish it didn't have to be this way

I wish I could turn back time
Where we could say such words
Without the feeling of dread
Pulling me down

It's not that I don't love you
It's not that I don't care
I can't help but just feel
That you're just a friend

With my brain tearing me down
With my heart turning to dust
I've realized I'm too messed up

I'll ruin you
I'll break you down

Nothing can stop this pain
No one can stop the rain
Falling from your eyes

The pain deep inside
Hurts every time

You look back to the memories
That are so far
To only realize they are not

We've come so far
But we must stop

I'm sorry for the harm
But I shall do no more
For now we shall leave

But we shall leave
Our broken hearts
