Lark Creek Woods

Jesse's POV

I was in the woods with Madison, and we were having a picnic near Terabithia.

"This is so nice." Madison said

"Yeah. It is. By the way Madison, I know you love me. Garath told me. And to tell you the truth, I love you too." I replied

"You do?" Madison asked, clearly surprised to hear that I love her.

"Yes. I didn't know you loved me at first. I used to think you were picking on me for your own selfish enjoyment. But now, thanks to Garath, I know the truth." I answered

Madison hugged me, and I almost felt breathless.

"You have no idea of how long I've waited to hear those words." She said.

"And you wouldn't believe how surprised I was to learn you loved me. But regardless, I'm willing to do anything to show you how much I love you." I replied.

Madison and I made out with one another. We didn't care if we were in public. There was nobody else around and more importantly, we were in love.

"This is the best date I've ever been on." Madison said.

I smiled at Madison and hugged her. I thought about what Garath said about Madison being a much more suitable girlfriend for me, and I now realized that he was right. So I decided to forget about going out with my teacher because she's way too old for me. While I did agree with Garath, I wasn't sure if Madison was the one at first. But now I'm certain. I would rather be with Madison.

"Well, maybe we can get married once we're all grown up." Madison replied

"Yes. I would like that very much. There's no one I'd rather spend the rest of my life with than you." I said.

"Me too sugar. Let's go home." Madison said

"Yes. I'll see you tomorrow honey." I replied as we both headed home.

Madison and I held hands as walked through the woods and returned home. Luckily, Madison lived a short walk away from my house. She smiled as we came close to her house.

"Thanks for such a lovely date. Maybe we should go back there sometime." She said.

"Yes. I had fun. And I would love going out with you Madison." I replied.

Madison wrapped her arms around me and we both made out. After pulling apart, we smiled at each other.

"See you at school tomorrow." Madison said.

"See ya. Maybe we could have lunch together at school from here on out." I replied.

"That's a great idea. By the way, I've seen how happy Garath is with Leslie. And I bet no one could compare to her." Madison said.

I thought of this for a moment, and I realized that Madison was right. Not only was Leslie the best friend that I've ever had, but Garath did seem quite happy with her. It was almost as if he had completely forgotten about his past and moved on.

"Yes he is. I've never seen him so happy. And just the other day, Leslie and I both learned something else about Garath. Apparently, he's a very powerful sorcerer. When the three of us first visited the abandoned treehouse, we had a run-in with someone that Garath has known for a long time." I said.

"Who?" Madison asked.

"It wasn't exactly a person. He called himself, Graf Dumas. But in reality, he was a demonic entity called the Azure Nightmare. He sent a pair of raptors to kill Leslie and I. But Garath intervened to protect us. That was the first time Leslie and I ever had a glimpse of his true power. And just yesterday, Garath fought against Nightmare after Leslie was captured." I answered.

"So, Garath isn't just a martial arts expert. But he's also a sorcerer who controls a variety of magics?" Madison asked.

"Yes. But he's a good friend nevertheless. Garath, Leslie and I created a fantasy world of our own here. It is called Terabithia. Leslie and Garath are the rulers while I help them maintain peace and harmony." I answered.

Madison smiled.

"Well, I would most certainly love to see this fantasy world you guys created. And I would more than happy to help you protect it." She said.

I smiled back at Madison.

"Thank you Madison. I would love the company." I replied.
