Lark Creek woods
Leslie's POV
Jesse, Garath and I had just gotten out of school and were walking in the woods. Soon, we came across a rope that was hanging above the creek.
"Come on. I found something on the other side yesterday." I said
"I don't know Leslie. That rope doesn't look very safe. It could break, then we'd end up falling into the creek and hit our heads on something. That would knock us out and we'd drown." Jesse said worriedly.
"I hate to admit it Leslie, but Jesse is right. I've heard reports of some kids who have swung on that rope before us. They ended up falling into the creek and hitting their heads on the rocks at the bottom. And they all had one thing in common; they were knocked unconscious, and drowned." Garath said
"Well, suit yourselves." I said as I grabbed the rope and swung across. I let go as soon as I was above the other side of the creek.
"Leslie!" Jesse cried out in alarm.
"It's okay. I made it across. It's safe." I called as I threw the rope to Jesse.
Jesse reluctantly swung across and let go, landing in the same area as me.
I threw the rope to Garath, but he didn't grab it. He turned around and walked off.
"Hey, aren't you coming?" I called out to him.
"Oh, I'm coming alright. But I don't need a silly old rope to get across." Garath said as he turned back into the direction of the rope.
Garath ran at incredible speed, and leaped into the air. He flipped as he flew across the creek and landed behind me and Jesse. We looked at him with astonishment.
"Whoa. How'd you do that?" Jesse asked
"I told you I didn't need a silly old rope to get across that creek." Garath answered
"Oh, yes. That's right. Your strength is inhuman. And as I have just witnessed, it enables you to jump higher and further than a normal human." I replied.
"Yes. I practice my martial arts to keep myself and my skills in shape. I also meditate to calm my mind.
"Come. It's not that far from here." I said.
We walked through the woods until we came across an abandoned tree house. It was perfect for us to create a castle for our fantasy world. But a dark figure was in our way.
"Leslie, Jesse. You two go up there and see if you can identify that figure, I'll sneak around and try to flank 'em." Garath said.
"Right." I replied.
Jesse and I walked up to the mysterious figure to figure out who he was. But as soon as Jesse and I were close enough to get a good look at this mysterious figure, he summoned a pair of Velociraptors.
