Of course, it was still quite difficult to understand everything the teacher was saying, but I could figure it out after a while. Suddenly, she yelled at someone in my direction, but not me. I looked around and saw Hueningkai with a nervous expression. I think the teacher said "stop eating" or something because he threw his lollipop in the trash after she yelled. Yes, he knows more Korean than me because he's been here longer.
After she continued teaching, Hueningkai giggled and the teacher slammed a book on the table and yelled at him. I'm assuming she gave him a detention because he said "yes" while looking down and frowning.

The class had ended and it was time for lunch. As I left the classroom, I realized that I should be much more serious about learning this language. As I was walking with Lisa to the cafeteria, Hueningkai caught up with us and said to me, "hey, do you wanna go to the library with me and look at some Korean language learning books?"
I agreed because I really need to do that, anyway. Lisa stayed at the cafeteria while I followed Hueningkai to the school library. We walked in and we received some dirty looks from some people. "Those students looked at me all the time like that when I was new," Hueningkai said in English, "it's only them, though. Their clique is famous for just being rude to people, so try to get used to it."
"Wait, so, they're the same kids who looked at me outside of the school? And when I introduced myself in my class?" I asked. "Yeah. Everyone here is really friendly to international students, except them." I nodded silently while I watched the students look at us in disgust.
One kid, though, looked at me with a sad face that reads, I understand. It sucks. I returned the expression to him and suddenly Hueningkai pulled my arm and ran because he found the Korean learning books. The library is divided into two sections and most books were in the second section, where no students were sitting.
We looked at books and decided on one that we thought would help us a lot. We sat at a table and started reading the book together.

We checked out the books from the librarian just as the bell rang. As Hueningkai and I were leaving, someone behind us yelled, "wait!" We turned around and saw that boy on the floor because he tripped over a chair.
I looked at his name tag and it said, Vernon Chwe.

Vernon's POV
I looked up and saw a girl and a boy walk in. The students looked at them dirty. That happened to me when I first came. My dad is Korean but my mother and I are both American.
So I gave them a look of sympathy. The boy's name tag said, Kai Huening, and the girl's name tag said, L/N F/N (last name first name).
Y/N... it's really her...
Does she not remember me?

Y/N's POV
Hueningkai and I left without speaking and he hovered his arm over my shoulders as we left. He put his arm down after we left the library, though.
"Anyways, I was thinking we could study Korean together some days a week," he started, "do you want to?"
"Sure!" I smiled. We went down to the cafeteria where Lisa was waiting for us and we sat down at her table and quickly ate our lunches.
The bell rang indicating next period, so we all went upstairs to our lockers. I had history, but Hueningkai and Lisa had science.
I walked in and the teacher, Mr. Choi, called up a student and told him to help me because I don't know Korean that well. There was an empty seat next to him so Mr. Choi told me to sit there. As we were walking back to our seats, the boy whispered, "hi, Y/N." I looked at his name tag and his face and turns out he's the boy from the library. His hair was dyed light, honey brown. "Oh hi, um, Vernon."
He looked a little sad after he saw me look at his uniform name tag. I started to wonder why he always gets sad when he sees me.
We sit down and the period seemed to go by very slowly. Every time Vernon would translate something to me, it seemed like he kept trying to get more of my attention. Also, I caught him looking at me a lot.

Vernon's POV
Why, why, why...
Y/N, why don't you remember me?
You don't know how sad I am that all our memories are lost.
I barely even payed attention to the class. I only payed attention to Y/N.

Y/N's POV
The period ended and the only class I have left for today is math. Huh, I guess I don't have science on Mondays.
Since Lisa and I have math together, we walked each other there.
————————————————————
Math actually went by very quickly. It seemed like the opposite of last period.
The bell rang, letting us all go home. Lisa's family had plans after school so she had to leave quickly. To my surprise, Hueningkai was waiting outside of the classroom.
"Hey, Y/N. Do you wanna go study Korean with me?" He asked while smiling. "Sure, let's go." I smiled and started to walk but he just stood there. "Oh, wait, I have detention today, remember?" He said. "Ms. Kim gave it to me for 'eating in class' and 'disrupting the lesson.'"
"Right! I forgot." I said, feeling tired. "Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow then." I turned around to walk home but he held my arm and stopped me. "Let me give you my number," He said. I gave him my phone and after a few seconds he gave it back to me.
"See you tomorrow, Y/N. Nice to meet you!" He started walking back to the other classroom and I noticed I was the only one left in the hallway.
I left the building and started walking back home until suddenly I felt a strong hand grab my arm out of nowhere.
