Silver is a bitch, let me tell you. I didn't appreciate being whipped by a bullwhip laced with silver. It hurt like hell man.
I jumped up from being sprawled on my side by the snappy weapon and growled lowly at the woman wielding it. Filip and his companion stood by my sides, their shoulders brushing mine. I was taller than Filip, but the new wolf was taller than me and rivaled the size of Robin if I was correct. I had learned through a quick greeting that his name was Emil, and he was Robin's best friend. Standing on the other side of Emil was grandmother, who never stopped assessing her situation. Zana was leaning against a tree, her legs and wrists tied with silver laced ropes, and all the bitch did was wave at us. Six people were standing at her guard, and only one was standing before us as a human. The woman with the whip.
"Shall we have some fun then puppies?" The woman taunted.
"I have better remarks than that." Zana sorted.
"Watch yourself Stoica." She spun to scold my sister.
"Which Stoica?" Zana looked around, "There's three of us here."
Without warning the woman leaned down and slapped Zana, snapping all the restraint that was holding grandmother and I into place. We threw ourselves at the closest wolves, with every intention to kill them. Emil launched himself off the back of the biggest wolf and took down the woman, his teeth bared inches from her face. He snatched the whip and tossed it towards Zana, spitting at the foul taste the silver left in his mouth. Grandmother tore the throat from the wolf she was fighting before running and tearing into the biggest wolf.
The two alpha females were a close match to each other, and were throwing one another left and right. Filip was fighting two smaller wolves, and was holding his own well enough until the male yanked his legs out from under him. Emil ran to his friend's aid after ripping the rope from Zana, snapping the males throat swiftly. Filip wobbled to his legs, his front left paw cradled to his chest as he bared his teeth at the remaining female. I brought the male I was wrestling down, snapping his jaw. I turned to help grandmother but she didn't need it. She was standing in front of the other wolf's body.
Zana stood up, her eyes darting around, "Where is my sister?"
I motioned my head for her to follow but she didn't move.
"Where is Estara?"
I rolled my eyes and grabbed the front of her shirt in my teeth, pulling her along with me. She slapped my nose away and crawled up to sit on my shoulders. I took off in a swift run back towards the house, grandmother following just as quickly. Emil helped Filip make it back, but they moved slower due to Filip's broken foot. Robin ran up to me the moment we stepped out of the woods and helped Zana down by letting her use his nose as a balance. She ran up to mother, who gasped in relief and hugged her tightly, and once again the only words out of her mouth were: "Where is Estara?"
Robin nustled his nose against my shoulder and checked me for injuries before touching his forehead to mine a huff leaving his nose forcefully. Lola ran over to me and bowled me over, her nose poking every inch of my body to make sure that I didn't even wrinkle wrong. Robin shook his head before turning to Filip and Emil. A red wolf ran up to Filip, her nose sniffing his paw before she nustled his shoulder, her smell familiar. Kirsti.
I turned back to the house, watching as Estara ran down the stairs and threw herself at Zana. The twins fell to their knees as they held each other and cried. Gerda ran up to Robin and hugged his leg, mother grabbed up Marnie and kissed her all over. We had gotten through the scuffle, but we had a feeling it wasn't going to be the last. Sure we were small, but we fought well. I nodded gratefully at Emil, who turned flicked his ears and wandered into the woods without a word.
"He likes to be alone." Robin linked to me.
"I hadn't noticed."

Robin hadn't left me out of his sight since the scuffle, not that I blamed him. I was constantly keeping tabs on my sisters as they healed. He had sent Gerda home with Kirsti and Filip, much to Gerda's dismay. I had learned that Filip and Kirsti were mates, and that she was a beta, not an alpha like I thought she was. I also learned that Emil is an alpha that was taken in by Robin's pack by Robin's mother, and that no one knows much about him aside from that he's powerful and is a loyal friend to Robin. Our main pack house now sheltered a group of Robin's pack, not that we minded, we were thankful for their help for things might have gone a lot worse if they hadn't of come to help.
Emil was the secluded alpha who didn't sleep in the pack house, but he did come in during the roughest heat of the day. He slept out in the woods and was only seen when the sun was highest in the sky or if he wanted to shower.
Tomas was the quiet omega who stayed in the corners of the room, with nothing to say unless mother asked him if he wanted something, which he usually polietly declined with a quiet, "No thank you,"
Mia was the chocolate skinned beta that became a good friend to me instantly. Oh and yeah, she's Lola's mate. Fancy that. She had thick fluffy hair and the warmest hugs, she was also the loudest, much to father's dismay.
Finn was the strict warrior who often stood at the door, only coming in to sleep and switch posts with his brother. He ate and spoke very little, but it was easy to catch him smiling at one of Zana or grandmother's jokes.
Mathias was Finn's brother. He was more expressive than Finn, but slept less. It was more common to see him wandering when his brother was on guard. No one told them to guard the house, they just took it upon themselves.
Alice was the chatty omega with the heart of gold. She would force small snacks upon Mathias of Finn if they hadn't eaten, and she'd take care of Marnie by playing with her in the living room. She also helped mother clean, so it was safe to say mom liked her.

Sleep wasn't an easy thing to come by after the attack. I mean Robin and I could sleep, but I'd get woken up by Estara in the middle of the night because she had a nightmare and we'd go on walks that were often shadowed by Emil, not that we really minded, he'd be totally welcomed if another fight arose. Grandmother ordered for border patrols to happen twice a day instead of once a month, which father overruled, which grandmother overruled again. Since no one was stupid enough to disobey grandmother, we ended up patrolling twice a day. Once at dawn and once at dusk.
Robin usually participated at the dusk, he said it helped him calm his nerves, which I understood. Boy were we a current mess. Estara couldn't sleep, Grandmother didn't loose her snarky sense of humor and was still demanding her great grandbabies. She was also usually walking around with an oversized margarita. Mother was cleaning more in an attempt to get the stench of battle from her house, father shut himself in his study during the day, and Lola, Mia and I were constantly giving ourselves stomach aches with sweets. It was almost as if nothing had changed, and yet so many things had.
