Danny is in college and goes to hang out with some friends instead of studying for finals.
Enjoy :)

"Hey-hey, Freeman, you joining us tonight?" Jaycee called out as he entered the commons room. I frowned, still not used to the new name, and met his gaze as he waited for my answer.

"I don't—I'm not sure," I stuttered, racking my brain for an answer but coming up empty.

"Oh, come on! It's Friday night—just you, me, and the rest of the boys straight up chillin'."

I gestured to the stack of papers littering my workspace. "I have a lot to study this weekend, and finals—"

"Finals," Jaycee interrupted, "are not for another three weeks. Come on, it's been so long since we've all hung out—I feel like I barely know you anymore."

Groaning, I mentally weighed my options. It had been a long time since I closed the books and enjoyed myself. Begrudgingly, I agreed to join the guys, prompting Jaycee to cheer so loudly I swore it shook the windows.

"Awesome. It looks like you won't be seeing the last of me today, man. Meet up in my dorm at six and bring some something to add to the snack pile." Saluting me on his way out, Jaycee left me alone to contemplate the obligation I just made.

Glancing back at my homework, I grimaced at the quantum mechanic equations scattered across my notebooks. I couldn't do anymore. Checking the wall clock, it read 4:30. I had just enough time to pack my stuff, return to my dorm, grab some food at the nearest convenience store, and then head over to Jaycee's.

Gripping a large bag of chips, I made my way to my friend's place. Before entering the hall his dorm was on, I could hear the rest of my friends laughing inside. The sound eased any built-up anxiety; my last few months of sophomore year had been challenging, and I had isolated myself from my friends. I wasn't sure if they wanted to hang out anymore, but the sounds of laughter seemed to drive off those doubts.

Taking the last few steps to the door, I let out a sigh and lightly knocked. "Hey guys, I think he's here!" I heard Jaycee yell from the other side. Seconds later, Mike opened the door, revealing the rest of my friends behind him.

"Yo, Freeman, I can't believe little Jay managed to pull you away from your books," Mike said as he handed me a drink.

"I, uh, brought some food. It's not much, but—"

"Dude, any food is good food," Aaron interrupted, grabbing the bag of chips out of my firm grasp.

Glancing around the dorm, I was bombarded with old memories of the four of us hanging out—I didn't know why I pushed myself away from them so much. "So," Aaron's deep voice brought me out of my mind. "What's our plan for the night?" Walking up, he held three large bowls each holding different snacks.

"You guys didn't already have an idea? The way Jaycee put it, it sounded like you all had some extravagant evening planned," I teased the three.

Jaycee, avoiding eye contact, kept silent as Mike and Aaron both glared at him. "Y'know, I heard there's supposed to be a big movie coming out this weekend. Maybe we could check it out?" Mike halfheartedly suggested. The rest of us shook our heads, trying to think of something better.
