We sat in silence for what felt like an eternity. I kept my movements down to a minimum, only moving my hand to cover my mouth when I had to cough, and he kept his eyes on the roads ahead of him.
I glanced over to him and it kind of irritated me that he was so dámn attractive. His touseled light brown hair looked like a woman had been combing her fingers through it and was just long enough that you would be able to grab a handful of it to pull. His dark eyebrows framed his face perfectly and his eyelashes seemed to perfect and curled. He had these ridiculous cheekbones and his jaw was perfectly chiseled that it made my lips curl up in a snarl. His white teeth were slightly on show as he was biting his bottom lip. His nose had a slight crook in the bridge – which was perhaps his only flaw.
I began to fidget uncomfortably as a strange feeling was forming in the pit of my stomach. “Like what you see?”
“As if.” I scoffed turning my head so I was looking out of the windshield again.
“You know, you don’t have to hide it.”
I looked back at him out of the corner of my eye and saw him watching me. “Keep your eyes on the road.”He smirked, “Fine.” Hayden looked back at the road in front of him and then proceeded to lift his hands off the steering wheel so that they were now resting in his lap. I watched him with horror as the dumbáss drove without keeping his fücking hands on the steering wheel, “What the hell is the matter with you!” I yelled at him as I gripped the side of my seat and the car.
The smirk on his face grew wider until it was a full on smile, “Your choice sweetheart. I either keep my eyes on the road or my hands on the wheel.”
I narrowed my eyes at him and had to stop myself from grabbing the dámn thing myself, “Why don’t you just choose to be safe. I wasn’t planning on dying in this rustbucket.” My words came out through clenched teeth as I watched him laugh at my reaction.
“Sweetheart, this is not a rust bucket,” as he said the last two words as if they were taboo, “it’s a 1969 Dingo. This baby’s a classic.”
He reached forward and patted the front of the dashboard and you could tell that he felt about as much pride as a mom watching her child sway on stage as tree number three. “Stop calling me sweetheart.” I snapped.
He threw his hands up in defense and put his hands back on the wheel, “You’re no fun.”
I continued to watch him as my curiosity got the best of me, “So what were you doing down here anyways?”
“So now you want to know more things about me.” He laughed. “What happened to me being the biggest döuchebag of all time?”
“Still deciding.”
His grin seemed to go from ear to ear, “Well, in that case I guess I got to be on my best behavior, huh?”
Damn straight you do. I kept my mouth shut and went back to watching the road in front me.
“Unless you promise to punish me.”
“Excuse me,” I scoffed again.
He continued to laugh at my reactions, apparently finding everything I do to be extremely hilarious. “We’re here.” He said as he cut the engine on his car.
I looked around and took in the unfamiliar surroundings, “And where exactly is here?” I asked.
I jumped slightly when I felt his warm finger under my chin, “Do you trust me?”
This time it was my turn to laugh. “Do I trust you? What reason have you given to trust you?”
Hayden’s smile fell for a second but was quickly replaced by his smirk again, as if it never changed. “C’mon,” His voice came out a little quieter and he didn’t sound as cocky as it did before.
Without waiting for a reply he got out of the car and slammed it a little too roughly. I sat in the car a little longer deciding whether or not I should get out of the car. On one hand, I could stay in the car where I know nothing weird will happen and on the other hand I could follow that arrogant prick and end up who knows where.
I began to pick at my cuticles and look at my nails, the blue polish was beginning to chip and my nails were slightly grown out. I chastised myself for not following up with my nail appointment that I had yesterday.
Stop it. You’re stalling. I grimaced as I realized what I was doing.
I had to make a choice.
Go with him or stay in the car.
“Hayden,” I yelled out of the car, it was too dark for me to see where he was so I had no idea how far he had walked, “Wait up.”
A/N:
Would you guys rather have smaller chapters with quicker updates or longer chapters with slower updates?
Let me know what you guys thought of the chapter! Are you missing Hayden P.O.V.'s?
Kind of thinking about changing K.C. from Nina Dobrev to someone else...As much as I love her stuff she just doesn't look like someone who has a backbone or is ballsly enough to be K.C.
So follow me if you already haven't, add my book, comment, and vote!
