"Mom, I don't want to go to the stupid camp!"

"All the more reason to go."

"If you really loved me, you would accept me for who I am." I huffed, looking out the window.

It was raining lightly, but the clouds were darkening threatening a heavier rain. "Honey, your father and I love you, and because we love you, we are sending you to camp."

"What? That makes NO sense whatsoever!" I shot back, glaring at her.

She kept her eyes on the road, ignoring my glare. I finally gave up my evil look and layed my head against the window. I started playing connect the dots with the raindrops.

She finally spoke, "Honey, your father and I don't want you to go to hell."

"Ugh," I rolled my eyes.

The car made a right turn into a recreational center parking lot. There were three travel buses parked with a bunch of kids waiting outside them.

She continued, "In the Bible, 1st Corinthians 6:9-10 it says homosexuals will not enter the kingdom of God."

"Mom, I love who I love, I don't think God is going to hate me for that."

"No, you don-" She began, but I cut her off, "Actually, I do, in 1st Peter 4:8 it says, 'Above all, love each other deeply because love covers over a multitude of sins.'"

She sighed, "Honey, you're just going through a phase. You are too young to know your sexuality."

"Said no one to the straight kid," I mumbled.

"Devin Chase! You are going to that camp and it is final! I don't want to hear another word about it. My daughter will not be a fucking Dyke and live a sinful life!"

"Cursing is a sin," I sang.

"Get out!" She shrieked.
