I had just finished my last class and I'm supposed to meet Quinn for our date. I was heading toward the Cafeteria when someone grabbed my arm.
"H-" I jerked my arm away as hard as I could.
"Chill, Devin!" Tiffany put her hands up in defense. "It's just me."
I nodded and turned around to keep walking towards the camp.
"Sorry, I scared you but I wanted to talk."
"Talk," I repeated it back not really interpreting what she was saying.
"Yeah" there was a long pause.
It was a pretty peaceful it was getting dark and the only noise you could hear was coming from the Cafeteria. But it also gave me a sense of fear, I personally think this camp needs to be better lit at night.
Not that I'm afraid of the dark... I'm just afraid of what might be IN the dark.
We are in the woods after all and no barriers around the camp so any maniac who lives in the woods could show up and kill you.
"Anyways," Tiffany spoke up,"Devin, that thing you and Tiny did at lunch today...that wasn't cool."
I didn't respond, she went on," Imagine how Quinn or Delany felt. And you looked foolish, it wasn't cute at all. Keep your eyes on your girl and your girl only. You don't need to make anyone jealous or one-up them. Relationships aren't about showing off. There's no need to act like that. You looked childish and stupid. And if you're gonna act like that then maybe you're not ready for a relationship. You're playing Quinn and showing her off, humiliating her."
I turned around to face her but stayed quiet.
"If I were Quinn, I would have been big mad."
She's right...
"I know you're not really like that and you didn't realize but next time, take other people's feelings into account...and apologize to Quinn."
"Okay I will...I'm sorry, thanks."
"No problem."
We walked the rest of the way in silence.
I walked towards the line when a pair of arms wrapped around me stopping me on my tracks.
"Where do you think you're going?" Quinn's smooth playful voice spoke into my ear.
"To get food," I said it as if it were a question.
"Did you forget about our date?"
"No, I just thought we would get our food then go out to eat wherever you wanted to take me."
I felt Quinn smile and shake her head against my neck.
"Okay... then what are we doing?"
"Follow me."
