Chapter 6- Secrets are surfacing

3rd persons POV

"Hijiri-San, would you like to join the rest of us?" Iinchō questions the boy sitting in the back of the classroom who was not interacting with anyone.

He shakes his head, indicating the he had no intentions of socializing with anyone. With a frown, Iinchō nods, respecting the boys decision before walking away.

The boy watches everyone in the room as they smile and yell at each other, his cold and hard blue eyes resting on the triplets who are all laughing. They're all celebrating the fact that Mia and Sawa have finally been announced as Double Stars.

Sensing a pair of eyes on her, Mia scans the room for them and her gaze eventually lands on Hijiri. His eyes widen when she makes eye contact with him, but he ignored the flustered feeling and lowers his head, his black hair hiding his face from her hazel eyes.

The boy sighs in relief after a few moments when no one speaks to him; finally raising his head once again only to be met with warm and curious hazel eyes.

"Hello, my names Sakura Mia. What's your name?" Mia asks, leaning towards the blue eyed boy.

Hijiri is surprised by her want to know him, but knowing that she's one of the Sakuras, he should have known. Her close proximity causes his cheeks to flush a little, not knowing what to do.

Hijiri takes a moment to collect himself and leans away from Mia, looking away from her and not acknowledging her.

Mia stares at the boy whose face is blank of any emotion, but she can see hints of him in his eyes. She tilts her head to the side, and tries coaxing him to talk with her.

"What's your Alice?" At her question, Mia sees Hijiri tense up and sees his face scrunch up, almost as if he's wincing at the thought of answering that question.

'What's wrong? Does he not talk?' Mia ponders, wondering why the boy was not responding or acknowledging her.

Before Mia can speak again, Hijiri stands up from his seat and leaves the classroom.

She stares at the door that he walked out through as a frown makes its way onto her face.

'Just who is that guy?'

"Nee-chan!" Mia almost falls as Mikan jumps on her from behind. "Mia-nee!" Akako smiles and leans on the bench that Hijiri was just on.

"Hello, you two." Mia smiles and watches the both of them smile at her. Mia pauses, before looking at Akako, her curiosity getting the better of her. "Ne, Akako. Who is that boy that sits where you are right now?"

Akako hums in confusion and looks at where she's sitting. "Oh!" Her eyes widen, "Hijiri Kazue sits here." Akako says.

"How come no one talks with him?" Mia tilts her head, hoping that it's not a situation like Sawa's.

"Oh! People try and talk with him, but he only every gives brief answers. Hijiri-San doesn't like to talk a lot, he mostly sits back and watches rather than contributing to conversation." Akako says as she recalls the boy not socializing.

"'san'?" Mia asks as she and Mikan listen to their younger sister fill them in.

"Hai. I refer to him as 'san' because I don't know him that well, and he is also a year older than us." Akako shrugs and goes to the desk on the other side of the aisle where Natsume and Ruka are sitting. Akako sits on the desk and plays with Ruka's bunny that has jumped on her lap. "Hijiri-San seems to-"

"Chibi." Akako's head snaps over to Natsume when he calls to her. He gives her a look, as though telling her to say no more.

Mia watches as Akako's eyes widen, looking shocked at how much she was saying. Akako immediately ceases talking and gives a nod to Natsume, thanking him for stopping her.
