Homecoming Dress shopping

I was obviously surprised when Dante told me that. So I laughed and told him to be serious with himself and go ask out a girl that he would like to be seen with.
"But that girl would be you, Anna. Please let me take you out to homecoming." He insisted. He also used his puppy eyes technique. Don't give in, Anna! Don't give in!
"Okay, fine! Just stop it with the puppy eyes!" I almost yelled at him for making me give in.
His eyes were adorable and the way he stuck out his bottom lip almost made him look like a baby. Well if he wasn't his age and size. He looked like a big, adorable baby.
And so on the way to my house he told me to go buy a royal blue dress and to be ready by 6:30 since the dance started at 7 on Friday.
Ok I had a week and like 6 hours to get a dress.
I'll go tomorrow.

Ok tomorrow is the day I get my dress.

Crap I forgot my dress I'll go tomorrow to go look for it.

Ok I have a project due in 12 hours the dress can wait.

Ok finally I'm free on Wednesday. And I have two days to get my dress.
Wooo...
I definitely suck at managing my time. I look at my phone and realized it's 9:05.
Well too late for school. Might as well go dress shopping especially since it'll be an easy in and easy out. I go to the nearest dress shop and look through the dresses they had in the long dress section. I don't see anything in particular I like in there but I ask a worker there to help me pick out a blue dress.
"Okay dolly. Just tell me what style, color, and length of the dress. And don't forget the budget your looking at!" She said. I looked at her name tag.

(her name tag had numbers to show other employees and customers what she does. First three means that she does and last three is how old she is. Usually blocked out to not be rude.)
"Um... I honestly don't know what style I'm looking for, or length for that matter but I know I need a royal blue dress that can be anything under $200. And I need it by Friday at 4 if possible." I said politely back.
Jackie smiled sweetly and said, "Oh sweetie you can take one home today if you need it as long as it's out on the racks. If not you'll need to look at the catalogs to see if you find one better. But those take months to come in, so just stay to the racks here, alright dolly?" She said.
"Oh um, of course. I knew that." I said awkwardly.
She looked at me and asked if I show my legs often. I shook my head no and she asked if I was comfortable showing my legs. "I am but I would want skin toned stockings with it. I'm insecure about myself and that would make me more confident." I said honestly.
"Well i have stockings for you, my dear, and I can see you in a short dress going a little a little past mid-thigh. It's going to have fake diamonds on the top making it cheaper but the fabric itself will be nice. So the price will be no issue I hope. I know exactly where the dress is and I'll get you your stockings. Come wait over here, dolly." She tells me an accurate description of what she finds so I'm happy for that. "We get so little options that I know some dresses by memory. And they're always so pretty."
I get into it and it was a medium so it fit my bust size and waist and neck area. I liked the feel of it and the stockings were soft and matched my skin making it great for not being obvious of my scars on my legs.
"I think I'll be taking this one home." I say as soon as I saw myself in the mirror.
"Are you sure? It's the first one I picked out!" Jackie said.
"Yeah I like this one and I'm sure my date would be stunned to see me in this. How much is it?" I honestly liked it but wanted to get out of the store already.
"$350!"
"WHAT?"
