I open my eyes to see the lights streaming through the curtains. I sit up, noticing that I am still nude and in Nathans bed. I wonder where Nathan could have gone, considering I have woken next to him multiple times already. My back and hips ache and I remember everything that had happened before I fell asleep. I flush as I run my hand down my back and reminisce Nathans touch.
I sigh and move off of the bed after a moment, grabbing my underwear and pants before slipping them on. I look all over his room but can't find my shirt from earlier. I grab the bag from the mall the other day and look for a new shirt that I can throw on. I settle on a black polo and sneak out of Nathan's room and head to the bathroom.
I look at the person in the mirror, noticing that I am not the person I once was. I use to be so happy, so alive, and without regret for anything I did. What has happened to me? I don't want to look in the mirror and see this person that is not me, even if it means looking like him. These piercings look like something Trevor would wear, but they are not something that I would have worn.
I hear a knock on the door as I am taking out my cartilage piercing, I never have been big into the ear piercings but Trevor had worn them. "Come in!" I yell as I finish pulling the rest of my ear piercings out. The door opens and I look over to see Nathan standing in the doorway. He seems like he is shocked to see me pulling my piercings out, he has never known me without them.
"Hey, is everything okay?" He asks and closes the door behind him. He locks it and comes closer to me as I pull my lip piercings out. "Are you going to clean them or something?" He asks, the silence in the bathroom making him uncomfortable. He is not one who likes silence.
I finally look back at him, my face clear of all of the piercings, and smile bite down on my lip. "Does this look too different?" I ask and move away from the counter as he crosses the room, pinning me to the wall by my wrists.
"The way you look isn't the reason I find you attractive." He whispers and his lips smash into mine. I kiss him back roughly and he removes his grasp on my wrists and wraps his arms around my waist, lifting me onto the bathroom counter.
My hands find his hair and his hands wander up my shirt but I am more than okay with his electric touch. I let out a breathy sigh and he silences it with his lips. Things are getting heated again, but he pulls away, pulling me off of the counter. We are both breathless and he laughs a little, finding my newly rediscovered hunger, funny. "We can't do anything with everyone downstairs." He mutters and moves away, heading towards the door.
"I will leave you to finish taking care of whatever you are doing." He says and opens the door, heading down the stairs. I hear him stop to speak to somebody and realize that it is Jessie. She appears in the doorway after a moment and halts when she sees that my piercings are gone.
"Hey, are you okay?" She asks and I nod, knowing that the feeling that is butterflying inside of me right now is not just because of great sex. I believe that I may have started to like Nathan as more than a friend, even though I am not ready for a relationship and neither is he.
"Yeah, just finally starting to feel like me again," I say and she smiles over at me, closing the gap between us. She places her hands on my cheeks and her facial expression softens. I can see the tears brimming in her eyes, the emotions she must have been holding back all of this time.
"Thank god, it was beginning to scare me, how much you're not you anymore." She says and I raise my hand, cupping her cheek. She is a gentle person with a badass exterior, that is why she belonged with Trevor and me. She has become my person.
"I need to go take care of something, Jessie. Would you like to go on a jog with me and help me to take care of what needs to be done?" I ask her and she steps away, nodding and turns away so she can go find an appropriate outfit to wear out to jog.
