the sushi place was just closing up and jaemin was resting at one of the tables, playing around with the chopsticks. he was just waiting for taeyong to close up the shop, and honestly, he felt like a little kid waiting for their parents to finish up with work. only this time, he felt at ease for once.

he didn't know why, neither did he really care, but he felt happy just sitting there playing around with the chopsticks in the silence of the shop.

the ring of the door caught him off guard though and caused him to flinch before he announced, "we're closed right now."

"i know that nana. my cousin owns the place."

the pink haired male craned his head back to see jeno walking towards him, along with renjun tailing not that far behind him in a flustered daze. it didn't take long for the youngest to piece things together about why renjun was like that.

"what are you two doing here so late then?" he asked instead.

"i could say the same to you."

that was when jaemin realized the situation he was in. trying to think of excuses to make in the tiny itty bitty amount of time he had, had his head spinning.

"i just wanted to hang with taeyong hyung, what's so wrong with that?"

jeno found it odd that jaemin wanted to hang out with his cousin, like, when were they so close? the way jaemin was slightly fidgeting in his seat and avoiding direct eye contact just proved his theory correct. something was up.

same goes for the time earlier that day when he caught the younger hastily putting something back into his hoodie pocket.

"jaemin, you know, if something's up, you can always talk to us." renjun finally spoke up after spotting bandages on jaemin's arm, where the sleeve was rolled up a bit.

"nothing's up guys, i promise." the youngest forced a smile that made it too easy for them to see that he was most definitely lying.

that's when the two thought that enough was enough, and dragged out two chairs, placing it on either side of jaemin then proceeded to sit down on them.

"we're not leaving until you tell us what's wrong jaemin." jeno said sternly.

"i told you, nothing is wrong--"

"these bandages say otherwise nana." renjun pointed at jaemin's arm, where the sleeve was now a bit more rolled up, showing off the white bandages that wrapped around his forearm.

jeno switched his gaze to where renjun was pointing, and there were indeed bandages wrapped around the younger's forearm. putting two and two together, he guessed that jaemin was shoving a bandage roll into his hoodie pocket when he exited his stall.
