After returning from Porlyusica's, Erza quickly padded into the guildhall, wanting to hide her hideous eye-patch from her guild mates.

Master Makarov was wise not to speak any words, but only told the guild members to keep quiet about the scarlet-haired girl. Having a traumatising past, it was only to a certain extent that she could hold herself together.

Not looking at where she was headed to, Erza found herself in the guild's infirmary room. At the head of the window in a bed, was a moon-white haired woman, with her eyes covered with bandages. She was also dressed a white haori with intricate designs along the trims, with an emblem of a water drop hanging around her neck, which was marred with pink scars.

The woman seemed to be asleep, so Erza quietly walked over and observed her from the side of the bed.

"She's pretty..." The girl muttered under her breath.

"Isn't she?"

Erza jumped a little, turned around so that she was facing Makarov, who was silently watching her from the doorway.

"She has been here ever since the First Master was around," the old man said. "All the masters in line and some guild members took care of her while she was asleep."

"Asleep? For how long?"

Makarov tapped his wooden staff against the floor gently, before rubbing his chin. "The First Master didn't know what was wrong with her when she found her in the forest unconscious. She was heavily injured and it took only 3 days for her injuries to heal completely. This woman might have enhanced healing abilities, but the First Master said that she isn't completely human."

Back then when Mavis was still the Master of Fairytail, there were rumours around town about a dragon's daughter amongst the people. She was Evian Whitethorn, the daughter of Duke Elias Whitethorn and one of the four earliest dragons alive, Glendys the Water Dragon. Glendys was a dragon who could shapeshift, so her daughter also has the ability to attain a human form.

The people weren't exactly afraid of a half-human and half-dragon, but they were just simply...amazed as such possibility of a human having a child with an ancient dragon.

There were a few sketches of Glendys in her human form that were recovered from an abandoned house downtown after Mavis managed to stop Yuri from going insane. The same moon-white hair and a body figure that would no doubt make any men or women swoon.

Maybe that woman is the daughter of the Water Dragon after all.

"We aren't sure of when she's gonna wake up," Makarov sighed. "But Fairytail knows that it's our duty to protect one of us at any cost."

Erza looked like she was in awe, then nodded her head in resolution.

She was going to protect this woman no matter what.

-

So she trained, and trained, and trained.

Opened up to her guild mates and made more friends. She became better socially and also often took care of the mysterious woman's body when she had downtime.

Erza silently prayed for the woman to wake up soon.

Well, that day came when Erza had her senses ripped away from her by Kyouka, and she was at the brink of collapsing.

When she was mindlessly drifting away to nowhere in the spiritual world, a light came to her. Something familiar, sea-breeze and pine washing over her body. Despite losing all of her senses, she somehow could see, smell, touch, taste and most importantly...hear her voice.

"It's time to wake up, Erza Scarlet."

Erza started to open her eyes, bit by bit. They were bloodshot, probably due to the fact that Kyouka had removed her sight by force.

"Thank you for taking care of me while I was asleep. Now, let me help you, take this as my repayment, alright?"

No, I'm alright...I'll fight all the way until the world's end.

"Now, now, young knight. You must learn to depend on others for help, and not always carry them on your shoulders every single time. Besides, I've seen you grow into a beautiful, brave and courageous young woman that I envisioned you to be. You did want to know who I am, right?"

Erza couldn't deny that.

Y-Yes. I want to.

"Your silent prayers has awaken me at last. Thank you, Erza Scarlet."

Everything went white afterwards.

Under Kyouka's taloned foot, Erza muttered something intelligible, which shocked the Etherious demoness.

"I...can see you. No matter what...you steal from me..."

Kyouka proceeded to remove her foot off Erza's face, giving way for the mortal to get on her feet, shakily. She was beyond shocked, that a mere mortal was not defeated yet by one of Zeref's demons.

"...no one can take away the light...that shines on my path!"

Minerva looked up at Erza in astonishment and in awe. "Sh-She stood up! Even after being stripped of the five senses..."

"That's...impossible..." Kyouka faltered.

Bring on the light that shall brave the darkness that conjured the world.

-

"The time's almost up!"

The woman that had been asleep for years dived from the high cliffs, and caught Erza in her arms. The same moon-white hair glittering under the silver moonlight, and the sleeves of her suit hugging the well-muscled biceps and her toned legs. Her eyes, however, were still bandaged.

However, she still could hear, touch, taste and smell her surroundings.

So it definitely surprised Minerva when she spoke. "Minerva, please finish Kyouka off before the timer finishes."

Listening to the lone warrior, Minerva used her magic, switching both Erza and that woman's places with herself, grabbing the knight's sword and stabbed Kyouka in the chest.

That demon was smiling.

Minerva looked up, only to see the countdown reaching zero.

The realisation dawned on them.

Magic is about to vanish from the face of this continent.
