Katelyn's eyes slowly fluttered open. This was definitely not her room.
Where am I? she thought.
She groaned and sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
"You're finally awake."
"Huh?" Katelyn turned her head to the voice and found Rafe, sitting on the foot of the bed, sketching something in his notebook.
"Oh, Rafe. Hi."
"Hi, sleepyhead."
"How long was I out?"
Rafe checked his watch.
"About 3 hours."
"What? Dang, sorry."
"Nah. You're fine."
"Whatcha drawing?"
"Nothing." Rafe said quickly, and shut his notebook.
"Anyways, we should get ready."
"Get ready for what, Rafe?"
"We're having a family dinner at the restaurant she found. Georgia wanted you to come as well."
"What? I don't know, I feel like I'm intruding."
"What?! Of course not! Even my mom insisted that you go. She said she wanted to get to know you better."
"If you say so."
Rafe smiled and tossed her a dress.
"What the-"
"It's kind of formal and my grandma bought a dress for Georgia. But it was way too big. Hopefully this one fits you."
"Thanks. When is the dinner?"
"In about 30 minutes."
"What?!"
"What's wrong?"
"Dang it Rafe, I should've woken up earlier. Now I'm gonna look ugly."
"Shhh. You're fine." Rafe said and pushed Katelyn towards the bathroom.
Rafe stretched.
"Guess I should change too."
About ten minutes later, Jules walked in on Rafe struggling with his tie.
"Where's Katelyn?"
"Bathroom. Hey, mom, can you help me with this?" Rafe said, mentioning to his tie.
"Sorry, honey, I have to help Georgia. Also, Carl is coming."
"What? Seriously?"
"Sorry. I wanted to say thank for picking you guys up. We're also leaving in 10 minutes."
"Ugh."
"Aww. Honey, I'm sure it'll be fine. Maybe YouTube the tie? Can you do that for me?"
Rafe groaned and flopped on his bed.
"Love you, honey."
"Love you, too, Mom."
Rafe sat up and continued to struggle with his tie.
"Rafe?"
"Yeah?" he grunted.
"How do I look?"
Rafe looked up and his breath hitched.
"W-wow. Y-you look amazing." he stuttered, unable to comprehend the quick pace that his heart was beating.
She wore the white dress Rafe lent her. Her hair was loosely curled and put into a half up and half down ponytail. It perfectly fit her body.
