Liz's P.O.V
"As for the discussion for today we have Romeo & Juliet, any words about it?" I asked the class as I sat down on top of my desk crossing my legs.
"Classic tragedy, it explains how love can be stronger than hate." A girl said as she placed her book down.
"Correct, but it can quite overcome everything, any else to add?" I asked with a smile.
"I believe Romeo and Juliet did everything wrong." One of the guys said and everyone's head snapped towards him, it was rare when he spoke up.
"Is that so Adrian, why?" I asked him as I frowned confused.
"Instead of killing each other for love Romeo should've stand up for what he believed in which in this case was Juliet's love, why couldn't he just tell Juliet's family that they were already married, wouldn't that had stopped Juliet's father from making her marry someone else?" Adrian asked me, he seemed to be slightly mad about the issue.
"That's quite an interesting point, now what would have happened if Romeo had done as you said so but didn't change anything, now we are of course basing ourselves with endless possibilities that start with a 'what if' nothing concrete." I told him, it was quite simple and he nodded understanding.
"What if they ran off?" A girl said; it was Kara.
"Ran off?" I asked her, what did she exactly imply by that?
"Yes, escaped from their families and start up in a new place." Kara said as she licked her lips.
I looked at her and saw her point.
"That could have been possible but remember in times like this being in your hometown, your land was such a big deal for your pride this is why in classic tales the worst thing that can happen is if you die or if you get kicked out of your land, easy as that." I said as I gestured my hands to the book that currently rested in my lap.
"So, between the families there wasn't a way to find peace?" Rose asked as she frowned at me slightly confused.
I shook my head.
"To enter in sense for men in that time and to admit that they had art wrong was impossible something that would never happen." I said and simply shrugged.
"I believe that if you love and want something or someone you will fight for them until the end no matter what." Adrian said as he met my gaze.
"That is quite motivating Adrian, but now we will have to center our thoughts into something a bit more of the present day." I said with a smile.
Everyone looked at me confused.
"Present day?" Sofia asked me confused.
"Yes, now I want you all to think how Romeo and Juliet would in this society fit if their love story took place in this time, how do you believe things would have gone for them?" I asked; I always loved asking this to my students or to anyone in general.
Gemma immediately raised her hand.
"Juliet and Romeo would've had their happy ending, there a thousand of help they could've got, or they would've been able to run and hide from their family now days that is full of endless possibilities." Gemma said with a smile confident of her answer.
After that I was full of speeches of how Romeo and Juliet would've been happy and all of those idea that never ended up in a tragedy, everything was fine until Adrian raised his hand and spoke.
"Romeo would be in jail." He said bluntly.
I looked at him startled.
"Pardon me?" I asked him as I looked at him intrigued.
