"Are you kidding me? I'm stuck with Little Miss. I hate the world, while you get a super nice partner! Sooo not fair." I rant.
Charlotte sighs. "Well, it's just one project. Then we can work together. Like we are supposed to." I let out a huff, which turned into a sigh. Who gives a project on the first day of school anyway? I thought and walked into the cafeteria for lunch. Charlotte and I always made each others lunches. We were truly best friends. We've always been inseparable since day one. "Ohhh! Oreos!" We both squeal at the same time. We both may or may not be slightly be obsessed with oreos. I mean, who isn't? "I actually like English." Charlotte randomly says.
"Not for the project, but we get this super cute diary that she wont even read!" I consider this. "Yeah, all she's gonna do is make sure it's done by giving a quick glance at the pages. So I can rant in the diary!" I exclaim. Charlotte playfully rolls her eyes and bites into a carrot stick. "Go ahead. Do as you wish." She laughs.
Suddenly I hear a scream. "Give it back!" A sixth grader yells. An eighth grade boy held up his lunch in the air. Charlotte held her breath. Even though I didn't realise it, so did I. Instantly I thought back to when I was younger and my mom and Dad had one of their fights right in front of Charlotte and I. I suddenly felt super protective of the boy who was being bullied. "Leave him alone! You shouldn't be fighting in front of the cafeteria like that!" I yelled super loud.
Loud enough to get the attention of a couple of teachers monitoring the cafeteria.
"Hey, what seems to be the problem here?" One rushed over. A male thank goodness. He can handle the punch of an eighth grader. A woman, not really. Besides, I don't want to see anymore women getting hit by a male. Plus Charlotte wouldn't be able to take it either. So I just chilled in my seat and tried not to think of when Charlotte and I were younger.
So many good memories just ripped apart.
