Elise
I set my bag down and followed his parents into the kitchen as Rocco walked behind us and grabbed my ass. I turned around and proceeded to pinch him. He shot me a look, and I stuck my tongue out at him.
We walked into the kitchen and took a seat at the kitchen table, which had dishes. I sat down, and Rocco's mom started dishing the food onto the plates. His dad poured everyone drinks, then we ate. As we ate dinner, they talked to me. I found them fascinating.
"You know, your dad used to run with me," his dad mentioned.
"Yeah, he said he met my mom, and stuff happened," I replied, not wanting to elaborate. It left a sour taste in my mouth.
"Elise, Jax was trying to protect your mother because he was in love with her. I've never seen a guy so smitten over someone as he was with her. He knew his reputation would hurt her and didn't want her to deal with it."
"It still did, though."
Rocco's dad glanced at me with knitted brows.
"But it doesn't always happen. Reputations are what people perceive of someone. It doesn't make them who they are," his mom told me.
I had a feeling they were talking more about Rocco than my dad at this point.
"This is the first time this schmuck brought someone home to dinner," his dad remarked.
Rocco didn't say much.
"Rocco's never brought home a girl before?" I asked him.
"Nope."
I glanced at Rocco as he ate. Dang, I found out a lot more about Rocco than I realized.
We finished dinner, then Rocco showed me his bedroom. I walked inside and looked around. He didn't have any posters of scantily clad women on the walls, which surprised me. It was pretty bare.
"I'm guessing you're not into decorating," I mentioned.
He took a seat on his bed, pulled me to him, laid his head on my stomach, and wrapped his arms around me. I placed my hand on his head and ran my fingers through his hair.
He lifted his head and looked at me. "Now, will you be mine?"
I looked at him. "Yes."
A smile formed on his lips as I smiled back. He pulled me into a kiss. As our kiss intensified, I straddled his lap. He claimed my lips over and over as I kissed him back. Then we broke from our kiss.
"Can I tell you something, and you promise not to hit me?" He asked me.
I looked at him sideways.
"I've fallen in love with you."
I didn't know what to say.
"I know it started as a bet, but along the way, I developed feelings for you. I thought once I got you to fall for me, then that was it. I'd win and walk away, but you've proven to be anything more than a stupid bet."
It was an honest admission. My hesitancy with Rocco was because I didn't want to fall for someone, only to have my heart shattered. The only problem is you can't control who you fall for, and I fell for Rocco Brandon, the bad boy.
I swallowed hard. "If we're being honest, then I should tell you that I, sort of," I averted my eyes, "fell for you, too." I glanced at him as he gazed at me that would make someone's heart race.
He pulled me into a kiss, and I kissed him back. I hope I didn't make a big mistake.
