As I traveled through the forest that I have now been going through for the past hour I never stopped reminding myself to keep track and distance from the snapping of twigs that seemed to follow me wherever I went, I knew there was a tracker on me but I needed to pull off the illusion that I didn’t hear their trip ups so I could catch and question them. When I got to the location that I was ordered to enter and explore I heard the twig snaps stop. It was just then that I heard the tracker jump towards me trying to take me down. Right before he landed on me I punched him in the stomach then slammed him on the ground, “Who are you and why are you tracking me?” I snarled, I could almost smell the fear emanating from him. “N-none of your business.” he stammered, trying to sound fearless. I raised my fist and he whimpered, “No! Fine, fine I’ll tell you.” I lowered my fist listening, “The names Snatch and I’m a Thage.” I stood up genuinely interested to hear his story I held out my hand, “Jake, now that we know each other how about you tell me why a cutpurse like you is in this neck of the woods, their isn’t much to steal unless, you found something interesting.” I eyed him suspiciously, he took my hand and stood, he seemed to squirm under my glance, “I did but I don’t know how to open it I was just tracking you to see if you were going to the same place and here we are.” I smiled slightly, this kid was nothing but a newbie, “Then I guess we can help each other.” I said, he smiled, “Yeah that would be great I’m not that strong as you can guess and my stomach still hurts from your punch.” He winced slightly as he held his stomach.
I clasped my hand on his shoulder, “Well then let’s get to it!” we walked to the entrance of what seemed like a closed off cave only to find magical symbols that have been etched into the stone. I thought for a moment, “Hey Snatch do you know what these symbols mean?” I asked, he shrugged, “I dunno that’s why I told you I don’t know how to open it.” I sighed, “These marks look familiar gimme a few minutes I think I know how to open it.” I said, he nodded and sat down. After about ten minutes I approached the stone symbols once again. I began to mutter a dispelling enchantment my father taught me and the stone groaned and moved away from the entrance giving us access. Snatch stood up, “Yes! We have access…why do you look so down” he said, I looked into the black hole, “This is going to be very difficult, that enchantment is only used by necros meaning, that we have a little meeting with the undead.” As I said this Snatch looked around nervously, “T-the undead?” I nodded and he shivered that’s when I knew this was going to be one difficult trip.
