When I woke up my side was killing me. I saw Jake rummaging around in his bag; he had a strange look on his face. “What’s wrong?” I asked holding my side. He just looked up and smiled and continued on searching for whatever he was searching for. I tried to stand but instead I fell and groaned in pain. “You shouldn’t move too much you were hit with a dart in your left side. It injected Skopra poison into you, the dart was smaller than the others so at least we know whatever lives in this chamber was, or is very clever as well as dangerous.” I scowled at him, “There is no way one person could build this.” Jake gave me a look, “Not if they’re a Necro.” “Ok fine you’ve made your point, where do we go from here?” “Well we would continue from where you had your little accident until we reached the Necro’s room.” I nodded and started walking Jake picked up his bag and followed, “What were you looking for in your bag?” “Oh I didn’t expect you to wake up so soon I was about to use an adrenaline shot.” I shuddered at that, “I hate those.” He looked at me, “you’ve had one before?” I nodded, “I got curious and injected myself with it. I got it from an abandon hospital.” Jake looked at me funny, “That’s really dangerous Snatch your heart could have given out!” I threw my hands up, “I didn’t know!” and with that we continued down the cavern.

After a few moments of uncomfortable silence Jake spoke up and grabbed the hood of my cloak, “Stay still.” I was struggling for a little but froze when I heard them. There were so many undead rasps and moans, I wanted to cry but Jake was just so calm, I don’t know how he does it but he doesn’t even flinch when he hears those things. “You hide and I’ll call out to you when it’s safe.” He said, I scowled at him but nodded. ‘I’m not a coward…’ I thought to myself. I shivered at the noises as I heard those things drag their decomposing limbs around. I heard a dull thud which must have been Jake taking them down stealthily.

After a while the thumps stopped and I began to grow impatient, “Where is he?” I crept forward and peered over a corner and saw corpses on the ground with their limbs at funny angles. “Where is Jake?” I whispered to myself. I got up and wandered around, there doesn’t seem to be any sign of movement. “There doesn’t seem to be any sign of Jake, he must have wandered without telling m-AGH!” I was interrupted abruptly and fell to the ground and pinned. I thought it was Jake at first but then I heard the groan. “GET OFF!!” I screamed as I flipped out my knife from my sleeve and tried to cut its wrist but the flesh was as hard as ice. The thing didn’t flinch but instead paused and stared at me. Tears slid down my cheeks and I saw its mouth open. I screamed and tried to cut its wrist once more but the undead creep tightened its grip, making me drop the knife. It knocked my knife across the room WH…where’s Jake!? I thought in panic. The let out a raspy sound that could only think was a laugh; it opened its mouth and started to bring its head down. C’mon think! Think!  I looked around only to find nothing, I could feel its cold breath on my neck. I shuddered and tried to move my arms but the creature tightened its grip more. I winced and tried to move my legs and to my surprise they moved! My legs aren’t pinned? Now’s my chance! I brought my knees up and hit it in the back as hard as I could. It grunted and turned around only to see my knee again. CRACK! I hit it in the jaw causing it to fall off of me. I took my chance and jumped up onto my feet. The undead creature stood and groaned. I sprang to my knife and gripped it in my hand I can do this… I thought although my heart was racing, I was shaking, and my wrists hurt but I had full confidence that I could do this. It charged at me and I was ready, I kicked the side of the foul creature’s knee. With a sickening snap the creature grunted and fell to the ground I raced to it sinking my knife deep into its skull. The dim blue light emitting form the creature’s eyes faded to nothing but black, empty, sockets. As I breathed heavily I found that I could not retrieve my knife from its skull. “Damn, only weapon I had to.” I cursed myself for not being better prepared. “Ok, gotta find Jake.” I leaned against a wall for a moment and stood by myself ready to search for Jake once more. I tried to find the next entrance but I was to dark. “I need light.” I whispered and a memory floated in front of my eyes.
