tired eyes

tired eyes and sleepless nights,
staying up talking with you.

we'd laugh and laugh till our stomachs hurt and our faces were turning blue.

but the nights got shorter,
and your laughs more rare,
then they didn't come at all.

i always wondered what happened to your triumphant laugh.
the laugh that could be my sun, even when the other stars would fall.

but i suppose that all stars burn out eventually, even you, my sun.

so i still have these tired eyes and sleepless nights,
and i still stay up thinking about you.

but i can't make you shine again.

(A/N: I apologise for how bad this is. It's midnight, I'm very sleep deprived, and I wrote this in one go. So if you read this, thank you so much, it means a lot to me.)
