When Eli finally woke up he realized he wasn't in Rempool anymore. As he looked up all he saw was a glimmer of light and the leaves waving in the air. After regaining all of his senses he sits up and looks around. At first he sees a fire that he is laying beside, the the soldiers walking around. Finally he sees all the tents and other fires in the distance. The smell of meat was in the distance, and music from drunk soldiers can be heard. Eli finally gets up and notices Leah sitting by the fire.
"Oh, your awake." She said calmly not wanting to startle him.
"Where are we?" Eli responded back.
"The emerald forest by Lorod. You've been out for a few days. Only waking up for food."
He didn't remember anything of the trip here. All he remembered was the general he met at the castle about to slit Leah's throat. Thank Nefrum he didn't. "So why are we here?"
"I'm not sure. I wish Anders was her, but I haven't seen him all day, he's probably asleep."
A voice spoke up, "He is, but I'm glad you're awake." Callum walked up to Eli with a little smirk. "I need you blacksmith boy."
"I told you my name is Eli-"
"And I don't care, name or not you are still a blacksmith and nothing else. Now follow me."
Without any other options he reluctantly agrees to follow. While following the general Eli notices things are familiar to him. Has he been here before? He's never been to lorod, or anywhere outside of Rempool. Why is it so familiar. When Callum and Eli arrive to the destination, he realized why he remembers.
There it was, Vine, Nefrum's first weapon, on top of a mossy hill in the middle of a stream. "It's real. . ." Is all Eli could say.
"Yes yes it's an incredible sight." Callum replies waving his hand around like he's heard it before. "Listen, I need you to get the sword for me."
Eli looks at him with a puzzled look, "Why? Can't you do it yourself?"
"I wish it was that simple." Callum says as he snaps his fingers. As soon as he does a soldier runs to the rapier. As soon as he grabs the hilt a blast of energy hits him, knocking him to the ground.
"It said only only a boy with grey eyes and the soul of Nefrum can wield it. That's why I need you."
Eli looked at Vine for a while. He understood why he chose him for grey eyes, but what does it mean by soul of Nefrum? It didn't make any sense but he had no choice. Eli slowly walked up to the rapier and stared at the beautiful rapier. After a while he finally grabs the hilt. . . Nothing happens. Eli starts to pull the rapier out and with ease he does. The blade of the rapier was thin, and the hilt was decorated with leaves and vines. Vine then glows brightly blinding everyone in Proximity.
"Eli Longflame," Vine called out. "You are the one destined to protect the forest." As soon as the light vanishes and Callum regains his sight he leaps to Eli trying to get the sword. When he gets close enough the vine wrapped around the rapier lunges at Callum, slamming him into the nearby tree. Callum looks up at Eli in pain then realized something is wrong. He stands in front of Callum pointing Vine at him, tears of blood running down his face and his eyes changed from grey to a bright silver.
"Do not touch the god who created you" Eli spoke loudly, "or you will experience a fate far worse than death." The vine lets go of Callum and Eli faints. Leah runs up to him crying wondering if her brother is alright.
